Certinum Labs is an independent analytical testing laboratory in Fort Lauderdale, FL, specializing in peptide and dietary supplement analysis — identity, purity, and content — by HPLC and LC-MS. We are seeking an experienced analytical chemist to serve as our Laboratory Director and establish our analytical operations.
This is a part-time, flexible position (approximately 2–3 days per week once established), well suited to an experienced analytical/QC chemist who wants an ongoing part-time role bringing an equipped lab into full operation. This is an immediate-start position: the Laboratory Director will lead method development and validation, instrument qualification, and quality-system setup. The setup and validation phase may require additional days, settling into a steady part-time schedule thereafter.
Responsibilities
• Serve as Laboratory Director and technical authority; review and sign Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
• Review and approve analytical data, methods, and validation documentation; ensure data integrity and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results
• Develop and validate HPLC and LC-MS methods (identity, purity, quantification)
• Establish SOPs, the quality system, and good laboratory practices
• Oversee instrument qualification (IQ/OQ) and day-to-day analytical operations
• Supervise analysts and interns
Qualifications
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Biochemistry
• Hands-on expertise with HPLC and LC-MS (Shimadzu / LabSolutions a plus)
• Method development and validation experience
• QC experience and a track record of reviewing/releasing analytical results (COAs) strongly preferred
• Ability to act as the laboratory’s technical / quality lead
