Yecuris is seeking an experienced, self-directed Business Development Manager to drive sales growth, build customer relationships, and promote our innovative biotech solutions as part of the Client Services Group - our client-facing Sales, Marketing, and customer support department. This individual will serve as a credible scientific peer to our research customers, with added responsibility for identifying new commercial opportunities by defining unmet customer needs, market and technological trends, and the evolution of industry therapeutic area prioritization. This role may include supervising team members as our business development function grows. The ideal candidate holds a graduate degree in the life sciences (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) and brings prior commercial experience with biotech and pharma customers.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives at the intersection of science and business.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

Generate Sales Opportunities

• Identify, qualify, and close business opportunities across biotech, pharma, and academic research institutions.

• Actively cultivate new leads through various channels, including attending conferences, networking events, and utilizing online resources.

• Survey information sources to identify target companies based on therapeutic area, mechanism of action, and other key activities relevant to the company’s products and services.

• Identify new business opportunities through networking and collaboration and communicate these to appropriate parties internally.

• Enter and maintain customer and lead data in a CRM database.

Lead with Scientific Credibility

• Understand customers’ scientific needs and communicate benefits and attributes of the Company’s products and services to match those needs.

• Deliver scientific presentations virtually and in-person.

• Consult with customers on experimental design to help them achieve stated scientific goals.

Build Lasting Client Relationships

• Maintain relationships with academic and industry researchers.

• Contribute to sales and scientific collaboration relationships.

• Support customers in obtaining necessary technical support.

Understand and Expand Market Presence

• Participate scientifically and from a sales perspective in supporting marketing initiatives.

• Prepare and present reports, summaries and quantitative analyses to a diverse audience including senior management.

• Mentor and train others in areas of expertise and, as the team grows, supervise direct reports.

• Be responsible for delivering meaningful outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate degree in Life Science required, a Ph.D. or M.S. is preferred; or a Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant business experience and/or an MBA.

• 3+ years of experience in a commercial role (sales, business development, or customer-facing technical work) with biotech and pharma customers.

• Prior experience with in vivo experimentation and/or application areas (such as drug metabolism, infectious disease, or cell and gene therapy) are preferred.

• Ability to present the Company’s products and services on a peer-to-peer level with biotech and pharma scientists and academic faculty.

• Be a self-driven team player with excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills.

• Must be able to organize and successfully manage handoffs with internal cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is in an on-site office setting

• Occasional domestic and international travel to conferences and/or customers
