The Role:

The Sr. Specialist, Maintenance is a senior technical role responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of GMP/non-GMP process equipment, with a strong emphasis on aseptic filling systems and high-precision pharmaceutical machinery.

This role serves as a lead technical responder and subject matter expert, ensuring equipment uptime, supporting commissioning/startup activities, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing systems.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Maintenance & Reliability

• Perform advanced preventative and corrective maintenance on process and utility systems in GMP environments

• Lead troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems

• Act as primary responder to equipment issues and ensure full resolution

• Support asset management and reliability initiatives

Aseptic Filling & Specialized Equipment

• Maintain and optimize aseptic filling machines

• Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and performance tuning

• Troubleshoot and improve packaging and inspection systems

• Ensure aseptic standards and GMP compliance

Commissioning & Continuous Improvement

• Support or lead commissioning, FAT/SAT, and startup activities

• Collaborate with Engineering on performance optimization and continuous improvement projects

• Provide technical expertise during shutdowns, upgrades, and system enhancements

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate cGMP documentation

• Author and revise SOPs, PMs, and job plans

• Support audits and ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and environmental standards

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as technical lead for cross-functional teams

• Train and onboard new technicians on equipment, procedures, and GMP practices

• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and external partners for maintenance planning

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

• Education: AS degree or certificate in a science/technical field or a technical trade school

• Experience: 9+ years’ of experience

• Specific Certifications or Training: None

• Other Quantifiable Preference: None
