The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD/ScD student to join our Infectious Disease Epidemiology team as a Summer 2025 Intern. This 11-week internship will primarily support the Norovirus (NoV) vaccines program, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world epidemiologic research, vaccine development, and decision-making.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Gain hands-on experience in applying epidemiologic knowledge and methods to support vaccine development across the development lifecycle.
Conduct epidemiologic analyses to assess the burden of NoV gastroenteritis and associated outcomes, informing public health interventions and vaccine strategies.
Engage with cross-functional teams, including Real-World Evidence (RWE) Analytics, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), and Clinical Development.
Contribute to regular cross-functional discussions on evidence generation strategies for NoV vaccines, shaping research priorities and decision-making.
Design and lead a descriptive epidemiology study utilizing administrative data to characterize norovirus disease burden in key populations, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Currently enrolled in a PhD/ScD program in Epidemiology or related field
Strong background or interest in epidemiology and biostatistics
Minimum GPA of 3.4
Interest in vaccine development, pharmacoepidemiologic methods, and data-driven decision-making
Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative yet independent work ethic
Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with SAS, STATA, or R is strongly preferred
Personal attributes: Strong communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, team-oriented mindset, adaptability under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
