Purpose
Our diverse Global Digital Strategy team is looking to hire an Associate Director to lead the development of AbbVie manufacturing sites' digital strategies that support business goals across the manufacturing network. The position will also impact and influence other sites with varying manufacturing modalities.
This role will also provide leadership to develop enterprise technology strategies, including the rollout of new solutions to support business goals for AbbVies manufacturing network. You may also have impact and influence over more than one technology and/or business domain.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Influence: Work with multiple sites to make significant contributions to their strategy development. Develop, adapt, and execute strategies to achieve key objectives.
- Process Improvement & Optimization:Makes significant contributions to identifying overall process and/or technology improvements.
- Make decisions that affect AbbVies financial, employee, and/ or public relations posture.
- Liaison & Relationship Building:Builds collaborative relationships and effectively interacts frequently with business and/ or technology senior leadership and vice presidents. Interacts well with diverse groups across business and technology functions and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
- Culture: Consistently demonstrate AbbVie's Ways of Working and Leadership
- Attributes include an enterprise mindset and people leadership. Understand and execute AbbVie's vision, goals and strategies. This role is accountable for the performance and results of strategically important projects and programs.
- Builds strategic partnershipsto further departmental and organizational objectives. Collaborates with key stakeholders of a site's Digital Strategy, including Global BTS, Factory of the Future, Lab of the Future, Regional Directors, and any other relevant party.
- Guidance and leadershipof site and/or network Digital Transformation activities, ensuring the adoption and nurturing of a culture of continuous improvement, are demonstrated in both business processes and personnel development.
- People Management: Managing a team of direct employees or contractors within multiple business and/or technology domains may be required.
- Resource Management: Responsible for making significant contributions to developing resource management strategy and organizational structure of multiple business and/or technology domains.
- Impact: Make decisions that affect AbbVies financial, employee, and/or public relations posture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate science, engineering, or business discipline is required. Master's degree in relevant industry discipline preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industry, with relevant managerial experience plus experience in executing strategic business projects.
- 3+ years experience working in an IT/OT environment with direct manufacturing exposure
- 3+ years of demonstrated project management skills, including delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting the predefined quality requirements.
- 3+ years of direct people management experience at management level.
- Strong strategy development and planning skills coupled with necessary knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing activities.
- Effectively connects employee and ME&C functional goals to business and/ or AbbVie goals.
- Thought leader within multiple technology and/ or business domains.
- Experience in technology operation, strategy, planning and implementation and/ or relevant business domain preferred.
