About the Department                                                                                                                                               

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.

 

FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today which we will still be proud of 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, where you will be working with multiple sites and cultures across the world.

The Position

Manage raw material planning & purchasing processes for AP &/or FP manufacturing lines to ensure availability of material for production. Coordinate & optimize the flow of raw materials from ordering through release for production. Maintain purchase planning master data. Plan production orders for component processing (Wash & Sterilization & Autoclaves) as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Forecast, plan, & manage incoming supply chain processes & material requirements in order to meet production plans, optimize inventory levels, & minimize risks
  • Ensure all purchasing processes comply with cGMP requirements & meet corporate guidelines
  • Manage purchasing cycle, including generating requests for quotes & pricing, requisitions, purchase orders, delivery schedules, goods receipt, & final payment
  • Monitor & track deliveries of materials & inventories to ensure the right materials are available at the right time to meet production plans & provide uninterrupted flow of materials & services
  • Manage change notifications from suppliers & manage change order activities related to master data creation & obsoleting of production materials with both internal stakeholders & suppliers
  • Monitor & track expiration of materials to minimize write-offs & ensure sufficient inventory levels are available for production
  • Perform cost, price, & risk analysis for raw materials, consumables & services
  • Manage & resolve pricing, quality, & delivery issues with suppliers. Drive continuous improvement
  • Identify & screen potential suppliers by researching parts, services, & material availability.  Ensure the vendor approval process is optimized & follows corporate requirements
  • Update & ensure master data accuracy for all assigned materials to ensure that all supply chain ERP & reporting systems operate efficiently & accurately
  • Develop reporting tools & scorecard metrics related to vendor performance, inventory, purchasing & other departmental KPIs within the supply chain area
  • Create & maintain department standard operating procedures. Execute change management & deviation investigation as required
  • Participate in & work with corporate Sourcing Operations & Strategic Sourcing for assigned commodities & conduct supplier site visits, change actions, & investigations as required.  Evaluate potential suppliers on the basis of capability, performance, delivery, & other key business criteria
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Quality assurance & Warehouse for timely testing & release of materials
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required. Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

     

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field required
  • Certification through APICS (CSCP or CPIM) or American Purchasing Society (CPP) preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in planning/purchasing/inventory management or supply chain related field preferred
  • Project related experience working on cross-functional teams preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills & presentation skills; ability to communicate across cultural barriers required
  • Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP systems (BW, APO, ECC preferred) required
  • Material planning in a cGMP manufacturing environment preferred
  • Production planning experience preferred
  • Experience with vendor managed inventories preferred
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN concepts & flow manufacturing & planning skills preferred
  • Strong customer service skills preferred
  • Experience with SOP development, change management & deviation investigations within a cGMP environment required
  • Good negotiation, communication, & collaboration skills preferred
  • Ability to relate to people in a diverse & international environment preferred
  • Ability to plan, coordinate & prioritize activities as well as handle numerous tasks simultaneously required
