The Position
The Rare Bleeding Therapeutic Area Lead is instrumental in shaping and executing NNI's strategic direction and initiatives within the TA. This role is responsible for guiding product development and commercialization strategies for late stage and in-line assets within the TA to maximize brand and portfolio performance as well as improving customer experience. It is a key driver of growth, differentiation, standard setting, establishing and elevating a proactive leadership position in a competitive market landscape. The role requires strategic thinking and leadership at the therapy area and brand level and model an enterprise mindset while influencing functional leaders to align to the enterprise vision for the TA. This role also contributes to the global TA strategy by working closely with global marketing and medical leaders. Embody NN leadership behaviors, embracing innovation, leadership over process, empowerment and the value of time.
This role will also establish and build capabilities and oversee the leader of the thought leader liaisons that will progress our Novo Nordisk thought leadership in Rare Bleeding and ensure intentional partnerships are established advancing our collaborations with KOLs.
Relationships
Reports to Rare Disease Commercial Strategy and Marketing Head and is key contributor to the Rare Disease Commercial Strategy and Marketing Leadership team. Responsible for providing interface with key internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Feld Sales, Marketing, Strategic Partnership and Engagement, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA), Portfolio Strategy, Commercial Excellence, Regulatory Affairs, and other relevant NNI departments to ensure alignment of therapy area objectives and strategies.
This role will oversee leaders of the Hemophila A, Hemophilia B, Inhibitors and Ultra-Rare Bleeding Disorders TAs as well as leader of Thought Leader Liasions, 5D and Culture Roles.
Essential Functions
- Integrated Strategy, Planning, Performance and Tracking
- Develop and execute the Rare Bleeding commercial strategy aligning with overall company objectives, ensuring alignment between marketing, medical and market access
- Monitor financial performance metrics, ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded
- Define key performance metrics and establish mechanisms for tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of Rare Bleeding marketing strategies and initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress against therapy area goals, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Commercialization Strategy
- Support development of the therapy area/brand value story and positioning to maximize launch through clinical evidence, and an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, market research, historical products, and payer landscape
- Lead market development and unbranded activities for the TA
- Market and Customer Experience Mapping
- Facilitate TA market analysis, competitor assessment, market sizing, and customer experience insights to shape strategic decisions and plans, being agile to adjust as new insights become available
- TA Strategy Oversight
- Oversee objectives and strategy, driving integrated marketing initiatives to maximize impact and commercial success across the TA
- Product Evolution
- Oversee product strategy and regulatory activities related to new clinical data or label changes. Lead modification to marketing strategies to encompass product related changes
Physical Requirement Details
Approximately 30-40% overnight travel.
Development Of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
