Senior Director, Results Delivery Office Capabilities & Business Performance

What you will do

Lets do this! Lets change the world! In this vital role you will join the Results Delivery Office (RDO) that drives transformation and builds critical capabilities that enable Amgen to respond to rapid advancements in science and technology within a rapidly changing business environment. We are looking for a RDO Capabilities & Business Performance Lead to join our team of leaders and liaisons, working on these high-priority initiatives that drive value through changes to our operating model and through simplification of Amgens largest, cross-functional, end-to-end processes.

Responsibilities:

RDO Capabilities Lead Responsibilities

  • Partner with the RDO SLT to set priorities and vision for RDO Capabilities.

  • Lead the collective strategy for how we build RDO capabilities with RDO talent, partnering with the individual capability leads.

  • Drive continuous improvement of change management capabilities to reflect agile ways of working

  • Lead team to design and development of an RDO Capabilities Knowledge Center

  • Deliver a capabilities-based onboarding and staff development program for RDO talent

  • Establish mechanisms for RDO engagement on capabilities to foster an inclusive culture where talent feel invested in their professional growth in the RDO.

  • Be an ambassador and advocate RDO internal capabilities with Amgens SVP Operating Team

RDO Transformation Lead Responsibilities
  • Lead transformation programs or workstreams to deliver business solutions:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to elucidate opportunities.

  • Facilitate alignment on case for change, vision, ambition targets and realization measures

  • Problem solve, ideate solutions, build business cases; ensure operational plans are in place to realize value: governance, measurements, resources, continuous improvement.

  • Design and lead working sessions/workshops.

  • Design, develop and deliver key deliverables and presentation materials that facilitate decision-making with Sr. leaders

  • Lead a team to support transformation programs and/or lead workstreams

  • Drive execution excellence on transformation programs by leading the development and management of the workstream roadmap, project schedule, and status reporting (either directly or by member of your team).

  • Lead development and facilitation of phase-appropriate change management strategies and execution activities.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 5 years of business performance, business transformation or change management experience

Or

Masters degree and 8 years of business performance, business transformation or change management experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 10 years of business performance, business transformation or change management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred) or other sectors of healthcare industry.

  • Experience planning and executing large-scale projects that require cross-functional coordination and collaboration.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills able to synthesize information to identify relevant insights that will inform improvement opportunities

  • Excellent written communication skills, including ability to translate insights into clear material to drive understanding and action with Senior Leadership

  • Understanding of how to translate insights and opportunities into meaningful change in a complex organization (such as Amgen)

  • Courage to make clear, robust data-driven recommendations and conviction to communicate and defend those at all levels.

  • Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrix environment, as well as interface effectively with all levels, including senior management

  • Able to coach teams in utilization of transformation frameworks/tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
