Be part of the Amgen Advanced Assembly and Final Product Operation, a new facility focused on medical device assembly and packaging of injectable medicines. When completed, the Advanced Assembly and Final Product Operation facility will not only feature the best in-class assembly and packaging technologies with embedded industry 4.0 capabilities, but it will also integrate sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste, as part of Amgens plan to be a carbon-neutral company by 2027.
In this role under the direction of the Director, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), the successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting various requirements outlined in site EHSS programs. As a core member of the site EHS team, the candidate will be expected to interact frequently with internal clients and be directly engaged in the operations of the facility. Responsible to implement, manage, and monitor aspects of facility safety and environmental compliance programs at the site level and manage competing priorities on a routine basis. This role will have broad responsibilities across the safety and environmental compliance subject areas.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the interpretation of EHSS regulations to ensure compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and local requirements
- Develop and implement environmental compliance plans for programs such as air quality, storm water, hazardous waste management, or solid waste management
- Support and actively lead elements of site safety culture programs.
- Facilitate EHS inspection program working with all locations and functions throughout the site (lab, manufacturing, construction)
- Conduct internal reviews and audits to ensure that safety and environmental procedures are being followed
- Perform job hazard analysis and other safety assessments
- Conduct and coordinate formal and informal training for staff and contractors
- Support EHS reviews of new material acquisitions
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation
- Identify and assist in implementing EHS program improvement initiatives
- Act as an EHS representative for internal client organizations
- Assist in Accident/Incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.

Basic Qualifications:Masters degree
OR
Bachelors degree or and 2 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
OR
Associate degree and 6 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
Experience managing industrial safety programs during new pharmaceutical facility start-up
Experience performing ergonomic risk assessments
Experience managing emergency action plans and emergency response activities
