The Position

The HCP Market Development Senior Strategist will play a vital role in developing healthcare professional (HCP) market development strategy and content development with a focus on our Obesity market. As The HCP Market Development Strategist, you will bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application, ensuring HCPs have the knowledge and skills to use our products safely and effectively based on our engagement strategy. This position is responsible for developing education programs, aimed at enhancing their understanding of disease states, treatment options, and patient care practices.

 

Relationships

Reports to HCP/KOL Strategy Lead. Collaborates closely with sales, marketing, medical affairs, market access and policy/advocacy (MAPA), regulatory affairs, and other relevant departments to ensure that educational efforts align with business objectives and contribute to improved patient outcomes and experiences.

 

Essential Functions

  • Market Development Strategy: Lead the development of comprehensive strategies to engage and educate healthcare providers in alignment with organizational objectives and therapeutic area strategies. Collaborate KOLs and other clinical stakeholders as well as sales and marketing leadership to assess learning needs and materials needed. Define strategic priorities for educator team
  • Market Development Content Development: Lead the development of educational program content and training materials such as live presentations, webinars, online modules, and printed materials and other educational materials to meet HCP ongoing educational needs. Create material to educate nurses, doctors, and other HCPs about obesity management, covering topics such as disease education, treatment guidelines, and best practices in patient care
  • Scientific Expertise: Translate complex medical data into clear, concise information / content for HCPs, bridging the gap between scientific research and practical application in patient care
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all educational content and strategies comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations and ethical guidelines, focusing on evidence-based information and avoiding promotional bias
  • Staying Current on Current Trends: Stay up to date on the latest clinical research and best practices related to our products and therapeutic areas, providing timely updates and insights to HCPs. Identify areas for educational intervention and continuous learning opportunities
  • Educational Program Strategy: Lead the development of comprehensive strategies to engage and educate healthcare providers in alignment with organizational objectives and therapeutic area strategies. Collaborate with KOLs and other clinical stakeholders as well as sales and marketing leadership to assess learning needs and materials needed. Define strategic priorities for educator team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with sales representatives and educator teams to ensure educator team content is addressing any educational needs based on feedback and field experience. Collaborate with HCP engagement team to provide guidance and training as needed to support educators and enhance their effectiveness in delivering educational programs / communicating key product or therapeutic area information
  • Patient Advocacy Content: Collaborate with the Consumer Strategy Team to develop strategy and content to educate nurses and doctors on how to best care for patients using our medications, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources to deliver optimal patient care
  • Content Performance and Optimization: Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and materials through identified performance metrics, feedback mechanisms and outcomes assessments, making adjustments as needed to improve results

    Physical Requirements

    Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

    Approximately 20% overnight travel.

     

     

    Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or Pharm D degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in any of the following: brand marketing, marketing, market development, clinical education, or related roles within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
  • HCP marketing experience leading brand/therapy area/market development strategy development and driving impactful customer experiences preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice principles, with experience in obesity preferred
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, including mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, and dosing of pharmaceutical products
  • Ability to translate complex medical data into clear, concise information/content for HCPs
  • Experience in developing strategy and content for educational programs and materials for HCPs
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and ethical guidelines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify educational needs, develop targeted interventions, and measure the impact of educational initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with management of outside stakeholders including vendor management experience
  • Leader with the ability to inspire and motivate others
