Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$63,750 - $180,400

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

Lilly is seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Platform Engineer with a Software Engineer focus to play a pivotal role in building transformative products across the entire Lilly value chain: drug discovery, research, manufacturing, go-to-market, and general knowledge work. As part of the SPE organization, you will provide technical leadership and contribution to cutting-edge AI products.

 

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Lead and drive forward SPE's platforms through direct involvement in architecture, configuration, coding, debugging, and system design.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge platform integrations, controllers, etc. ensuring high performance and scalability.

  • Actively participate in technical reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Partner closely with our product group to align technical solutions with business goals and deliver impactful features.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, helping them grow and succeed in their roles.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in software and platform engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve our products and processes.

 

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 5+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python, JS, Go

  • 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes

  • 1+ years of experience with Observability tooling (PLGJ)

 

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements in the life sciences and AI domains. 

  • Proficiency in OpenShift, Istio, Crossplane, etc.

  • GitOps experience utilizing Flux, ArgoCD and/or Github Actions.

  • Comfortable working in Kubectl, k9s and linux shell environments.

  • Worked in a Scrum Environment with a focus on agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
