Job Description

Job Title: Associate Director, R&D Quality Learning and Digital Lead

Location: Lexington, MA

About the role:

As the Associate Director, R&D Quality Learning and Digital Lead, you are responsible for project managing all learning deliverables, creation and identification of process and tools to support the instructional design process, use of AI tools to support the identification and/or creation of content, and support of learning metrics/KPIs within the R&D and R&D Quality organization. You will lead AI sectoring and summarization and Veeva metadata support in partnership with the relevant R&D functional leaders, R&D Quality (RDQ) functional leaders, business process owners and key learners. You will support content development, learning experience and instructional design, and creation of tools and templates to support the development and/or revision of learning deliverables, and will report to the Head of R&D Quality Learning.

How you will contribute:
  • Lead efforts to use AI for document grouping, summarization, and streamlining development processes.

  • Monitor and assess performance on deliverables to ensure learning content completion and approvals (project management).

  • Implement and maintain learning development and design standards, collaborating with R&D and RDQ partners.

  • Improve learning content using industry standards, innovative approaches, and new technologies through partnerships.

  • Lead learning process improvement projects, identifying gaps and establishing milestones and deliverables.

  • Prioritize and plan resources for instructional design deliverables with the Head of R&D Quality Learning.

  • Implement tools to support learning programs, including project management, SCORM testing, and curricula support.

  • Contribute to the design and development of R&D learning programs, including LMS and LXP support.

  • Champion modern techniques and best practices across projects, ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Track and deliver all learning content on time, monitor KPIs, and provide guidance on best practices for stakeholders.

What you bring to Takeda:
  • BS/BA degree required.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Learning, Training, and/or Process Excellence/Continuous Improvement in a regulated industry. Experience designing and developing eLearning solutions (Vyond, Smartsheet, Captivate, Storyline) is a plus.

  • Experience as project/people manager; leading large-scale, cross-functional, global projects with multiple stakeholders. Experience with Change Management.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Experience facilitating large workshops and/or training classes.

  • Experience researching and analyzing complex relationships across vast numbers of records in a database to identify outliers, issues, trends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, SQL, and PowerBI skills, and experience with other innovative collaboration tools and technology.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

149,100.00 - 234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
