The Position

The Associate Director of Real-World Data Strategy within the Real-World Data Strategy team is responsible for providing direction and expertise for clinical and real-world data across the Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Affairs department (CMR), driving complex insights and data governance initiatives across CMR with significant impact on business decisions as well as contributing to the strategic vision of CMR.

 

Responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategies to optimize and maintain complex company-wide clinical and real-world data asset needs using advanced techniques and technologies. Responsible for providing high quality solutions across a wide range of issues to strengthen decision-making across NNI.

 

Drives the development of strategic networks and collaboration with NNI-wide and global counterparts. Provides a high degree of innovation and strategic thinking to continuously drive value and growth.

 

Proactively identifies potential challenges and pursues new ideas and opportunities. Leads the implementation of highly innovative solutions to meet multiple stakeholder requirements.

 

Relationships

This is an Individual Contributor position that reports to the Senior Director – Real-World Data Strategy.

 

The Associate Director works closely with a number of local and global Novo Nordisk functions including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, HEOR Strategy, Real-World Evidence, Rapid Clinical Analytics, Advanced Analytics, Commercial Insights, Data Governance, Legal, Regulatory, Market Access and Public Affairs, Marketing and Sales, and other key internal stakeholders. The Associate Director will work within the NNI cross-functional team to help develop the real-world data strategy within the assigned TA. This individual will support all aspects of communication and dissemination associated with the activity.

 

Essential Functions

  • Drives development of the Real-World Data Strategy within the assigned TA
  • Provides direction and strategic oversight to ensure organization and linkage of clinical and real-world data resources aligned with high level business plans
  • Develops solutions to problem solve for various complexities in data tokenization and linkage
  • Drives the scouting of novel real world data sources within the assigned TA
  • Supports business case for innovative solutions via presentations to management
  • Strategically analyzes technology landscape to stay abreast of new methodologies and develop innovative technological approaches to improve existing access to scientific information and data
  • Revisits processes on an opportunistic basis to uncover any needs to improve efficiency
  • Drives training and education on real world and clinical data sources where needed
  • Serves as a liaison to global and non-CMR NNI functions with respect to real world data initiatives

    Physical Requirements

    10-20% overnight travel required.

     

    Qualifications

  • A PhD or Masters/MD/PharmD degree in appropriate healthcare-related field (heath economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, public health, business/health services research, biostatistics, medicine, biomedical sciences) preferred
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in innovative trials and data linkage preferred
  • At least 6 years of experience in US healthcare (clinical or real-world) data applications in areas such as health economics, outcomes research, pricing, reimbursement, medical affairs, and/or portfolio analysis, with at least 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry, payor or healthcare consulting
  • Keen knowledge of health care systems in the U.S., including managed care organizations, integrated health systems, PBMs, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Strong knowledge of US healthcare data and applications
  • Proven record of outstanding written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with experience interacting with and presenting to key customers
  • The position offers flexibility with regards to work location, for candidates within proximity to the NJ office, required multiple days each month.

     

    The base compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
