The Director of Total Rewards is a new, high-impact role responsible for administration, implementing, and managing compensation, benefits, and HR Ops programs that align with the company's growth strategy and culture, and ensures that we remain competitive within the pharma/biotech industry. 

Job Responsibilities

    Review our Total Rewards offerings, including base salary, short- and long-term incentives, equity programs, and benefits plans to ensure they support the company's growth and enable our continued competitiveness in the market
  • Support the design and execution of compensation frameworks, including job evaluations/market analysis, creating salary ranges, etc., to ensure market competitiveness and partner with HR to ensure needs of business are met.
  • Oversee the selection, administration, and communication of benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and other perks. 
  • Collaborate with and manage relationships with external benefits providers, brokers, and vendors to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and optimize service delivery.
  • Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local laws and industry regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, internal, and external audit representation, and partnership to ensure our programs are compliant.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and HR teams to ensure reward programs align with the company's financial strategy and legal standards.
  • Maintain policies and procedures related to total rewards and oversee audits as necessary.
  • Clearly communicate the company's total rewards philosophy, programs, and changes to ensure understanding and buy-in across all organizational levels.
  • Lead and manage the deployment of annual compensation planning process (merit, bonus) including creating and deploying metrics, training, and education materials.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for Total Rewards for HRIS deployments and optimizations. Manage compensation-related design and configuration decisions, including plan configuration and eligibility. 
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Oversee and serve as back up for equity plan administration.
  • Provide support and input on compensation programs and projects. Provide technical expertise to inform processes, projects, reporting, and analytics initiatives within Total Rewards.
  • Approve payroll processing for semi-monthly payroll and equity tax withholding payrolls.
  • Generates regular and ad-hoc reports from the HRIS to support decision-making by HR and management.
  • Support in developing and maintaining dashboards for tracking key HR metrics such as headcount, and compensation.

Job Requirements

    Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or similar designations are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, including compensation, and benefits preferably in pharma, biotech, or life sciences. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and strategy.
  • Experience with ADP WFN and understanding of payroll processing. 
  • Experience administering equity programs a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to identifying challenges and implementing strategic and scalable solutions.
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Must be confidential, tactful, and able to have difficult conversations.

Director, Total Rewards Salary Range: $175K - $210K
