EHSS Manager
What you will doLets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will oversee and advance various programs. This role will mainly focus on supporting and managing Risk, Change Management, and Ergonomics for the Thousand Oaks site. Primary responsibilities include:
Risk Management- Team member representing ATO at GFO Risk team and strategy meetings.
- In collaboration with GFO Risk lead, develop and update the ATO annual risk plan to include required 5-year reviews.
- Advise GFO Risk lead on ATO resource needs to execute annual ATO risk plan to include engineering and F&E system/process owner engagement and project support.
- Engage in advanced technical risk assessments like PHA and HAZOP by organizing meetings, selecting participants, and assisting external consultants.
- Conduct regular ATO risk assessments, including 5-year reviews.
- Engage in evaluating external vendors to meet Amgens standards for performing technical risk assessments.
- Update global data management systems with ATO site risk information.
- Track ATO risk corrective actions and ongoing compliance with risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of risk maps for the ATO site and integrate output from risk maps into ATO strategic planning and management reviews.
- Lead JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) development for ATO specific processes and support GFO JHA development for labs.
- Participate and/or facilitate ATO Site combustible powder technical risk assessments.
- Serve as an EHS reviewer for less technical ATO EHS by dEHSign small and large site projects including GLAM (Global Lifecycle Asset Management), ESR (Engineering Service Requests) and Capital Projects.
- Participate in ATO Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
- Verify project completes appropriate EHS deliverables (Haz gas modeling, Zoning for combustible powders, etc.)
- Support ATO site EHS staff with technical change control questions
- Own and manage change control records.
- Oversee the ATO Ergonomics Program by guiding junior staff and establishing processes and accountability metrics.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to offer strategic guidance for the Ergonomic Program.
- Review and approve ergonomic assessment reports for industrial and laboratory environments.
- Conduct Hazardous Material Exposure Assessments as needed, write detailed reports, recommend controls, and share the findings.
- Support laboratory clients as the primary point of conduct to assist with EHS questions and support client self-inspections and incident investigations.
- Partner with clients to advance safety culture

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED and 10 years of EHSS experience supporting industrial hygiene; OR
- Associates degree and 8 years of EHSS experience supporting industrial hygiene; Or
- Bachelors degree and 4 years of EHSS experience supporting industrial hygiene; Or
- Masters degree and 2 years of EHSS experience supporting industrial hygiene; Or
- Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in industrial hygiene
- Safety experience in research environments
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Strong understanding of chemical and biological manufacturing and laboratory operations
- Knowledgeable in office, industrial and laboratory ergonomics
- Experience implementing and supporting industrial hygiene and ergonomic programs
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and influence management
- Strong communication and presentation skills, action oriented, self-starting, program development and project management
- Strong technical writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
