Undergrad Co-op - Operations - Facilities & Engineering (Electrical) - Rhode Island (Jan -March 2025)

This could be your everyday

Lets do this. Lets change the world. During this program, you will have the opportunity to work within the Facilities & Engineering Department at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) Operations Facility from January 6th March 7th, 2025. Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to the co-op as they engage in the following:

• Gaining experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain of all major equipment on site
• Taking part in improvement projects related to the utilities systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations at ARI
• Applying basic engineering principles and practices in support of daily operation and maintenance activities for site utility systems
• Learning how to work in GMP environment and abide by GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations
• Working closely with multiple disciplines, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, Process Development, and Validation regarding utility operations & maintenance activities and strategies
• Collaborating with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

• 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
• Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship or co-op commencing
• Enrolled in a full-time Bachelors degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
• Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
• Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op

• Pursing a degree in Engineering (Facilities, Marine, or Energy Systems)
• Sophomore or Junior Standing
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
• Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
• Proven leadership experience on campus (e.g., projects, clubs, organizations, sports)

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 an hour.
