Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking an onsite Laboratory Operations Supervisor to oversee Virology Bioproduction in Manassas, VA.
As a Supervisor of Laboratory Operations, you'll oversee daily activities within our virology bioproduction laboratories, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to schedules. Utilize your expertise in scientific and technical aspects to train and provide direction to laboratory staff, resolve problems, and mitigate risks. Play a key role in maintaining ATCC quality and regulatory standards while implementing process improvements and providing valuable support to decision-making processes. Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate six skilled laboratory professionals to execute small-scale virology production processes
- Ensure effective operation of lab equipment, maintain supply inventories, and oversee waste reduction, quality, and safety
- Collaborate with Quality, Procurement, Planning, Facilities and other Operations departments to ensure timely and efficient production of high quality products
- Provide technical reviews of production batch records to ensure quality and accuracy
- Compile data for budgets, metrics and key performance indicators
- Facilitate tech transfer of new equipment and processes
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience or equivalent.
- Previous experience in leading and coordinating laboratory staff.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of QA requirements, regulatory standards, and protocols in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving laboratory needs.
- Prior hands-on cell culture and virology experience required to oversee team.
- Experience in GMP/GLP environment is preferrred
- Demonstrated leadership skills,including the ability to direct and coordinate staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standard.
Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
