Position Summary:
Responsible for developing, leading and managing the company’s accounting and financial reporting, including compliance, audit and tax, as well financial planning activities including key alliance, strategic planning and decision support.
This position is based in our South San Francisco headquarter offices and required to be onsite four days per week per our company policy.

What you'll do:
- Maintain ownership of all aspects of Finance for the organization, including reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, and FP&A.
- Oversee the Company’s program of internal controls, policies and procedures to ensure conformance and compliance with US GAAP and other statutory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Interact with key stakeholders including executive and key members of management, board of directors, audit committee, external and internal auditors.
- Building strong working relationships with all functional leaders to provide strategic and analytical decision support.
- Overall responsibility for the company’s Financial Planning, both tactically and strategically.
- Leading and managing the financial planning and analysis function including the annual budget, quarterly forecasting and long-range planning processes.
- Working collaboratively with functional leaders to generate accurate and timely budget and forecasts.
- Providing financial guidance to support strategic transactions and business development activities as well as key decisions across corporate and project-specific goals and objectives.
- Providing strategic financial support to key collaborations and R&D partnership arrangements
- Continuing to develop an effective reporting mechanism to Senior Management and functional leaders as business needs evolve.
- Managing all aspects of tax compliance including assistance to and coordination of outside tax provider activities.
- Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation.
Requirements:
- BS in relevant field, such as Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of accounting and finance experience with at least 5 years in a public company.
- High integrity and personal ethics
- Financial systems experience and ability to effect best practice business processes and financial controls
- Organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- Communication skills, including presentation, written and verbal skills
- Experienced manager / mentor with ability to hire, train, motivate, facilitate, and lead a team to impact results, culture, and strategic decisions
- Independently motivated, detail oriented, with strategic and analytical skills
- Biotechnology experience required.
$288,783 - $319,385 a year

The expected salary range for this role that is based in our South San Francisco, California office is $288,783-$319,385. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the office location where this open position is located, the final candidates’ experience within their profession, experience in the disease areas we are striving to make an impact in as a company, length of time within the industry, educational background, and performance during the interview process.
