Responsibilities
Position is responsible for leading the regional Facilities Management organization's capital project delivery program. Specifically, this position has the responsibility for overseeing and improving capital processes such as capital planning, project delivery and Asset Condition Evaluation (ACE) for administrative and laboratory research facilities across the US region.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Develop capital plans to support reliable assets and facilities
- Driving process efficiencies with a 3rd party project management delivery team
- Implement and streamline capital business processes for portfolio and project management (i.e. estimating, design services, commissioning, benchmarking with other companies, etc.)
- Lead the annual ACE process and provide support to functions as needed to ensure robustness and a strategic capital recap/idling/demolition outlook.
- Establishing and facilitating governance, metrics, and value for capital savings, including minimum acceptable scope reviews
- Analyze submitted ACE data and share with appropriate leadership to facilitate the creation of local capital targets and other strategic plans.
- Lead asset replacement value and recapitalization assessments
- Train and mentor team members on capital program processes
- Lead facility profiling projects
- Monitor and adjust to align compliance to corporate capital, financial and procurement policies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or construction management
- Minimum 5 years of capital project management experience
- 3-5 years of experience managing an organization's capital portfolio including budgeting and forecasting
Additional Skills/ Preferences
- Master’s in business administration
- Experience creating and/or managing a site Asset Condition Evaluation
- Project Management and/or Professional Engineer certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a highly autonomous, flexible environment with minimal direction
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and to balance competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including successful customer interaction.
- Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to analyze data and summarize results.
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English to a level to communicate technical and business information effectively.
- Supervisory experience managing at least 1-2 direct report employees
