Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician V, under minimal supervision, is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of equipment and systems critical to manufacturing operations of a cGMP facility. This role ensures equipment reliability and compliance with safety and quality standards in a regulated environment. The role requires strong technical background, hands-on experience with industrial equipment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, test, evaluate, and inspect the operation of critical equipment and systems in order to provide a safe and reliable facility infrastructure.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and predictive checks on the production equipment, including but not limited to pumps, autoclaves, part washers, filling & capping machine, exhaust fans, Clean Utility systems, HVAC systems, and other production equipment.
  • Monitor and respond to system failures, alarms, and abnormal site conditions by taking appropriate preventive and corrective actions. Diagnose and repair mechanical and control system issues quickly to minimize downtime, ensuring continuous operation of the cGMP manufacturing facility.
  • Use established internal procedures as well as industry standards, manufacturer procedures, etc. for the proper inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of measuring and test equipment.
  • Maintain records of repairs, preventive maintenance, and modifications in compliance with cGMP, SOPs and Quality manual. Document all maintenance activities accurately in the work orders and ensure all work orders are completed following SOPs and the quality manual.
  • Responsible for daily operational checks which may include maintaining, repairing, lubricating, inspecting, cleaning and testing of equipment.
  • Inspects third party repairs and/ or rebuilds for adherence to requirements and the quality of work.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in planning maintenance activities, prioritizing work orders, and scheduling preventive and corrective tasks to optimize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Propose and implement improvements for equipment performance, reliability, and safety. Lead or participate in projects to upgrade machinery or processes.
  • Follow all safety protocols, perform risk assessments, and support initiatives to promote a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Mentor junior maintenance technicians, sharing expertise on complex equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or upgrades, ensuring work quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Must be able to work long periods and ability to multi-task and manage multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include shift work and weekends to support operating schedules, facility requirements, and / or respond to call-in emergency situations.
  • Performs any other related job-duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with process equipment and building services
  • Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, and P&IDs
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment repair and troubleshooting
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Positive, and flexible frame of mind, to react to demanding situations


Preferred Qualifications

  • High School plus some formal technical education and trade Certificate of Qualification or Technologist Diploma at community college level
  • Experience generating traceable documentation for use in GMP environments
  • Industrial Millwright (433A) license and/or equivalent working equipment in maintenance field will be considered
  • Industrial electrician (442A) license
  • Experience with processing, filling and packaging equipment.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pre-employment medical and medical re-examination; inclusive of eye examination, performed every 2 years or as per RESILIENCE’s SOPs. Included as part of the medical is a respirator fit test (half mask), and pulmonary function test
  • This position requires occasional use of a half face respirator
  • This position requires vaccination for Hepatitis A and B
  • Gown qualified for Sterile operations in Class A/B clean rooms
  • Job requires shift work including weekends, and occasional extended shifts
