Job DescriptionAbout the role
The Senior Manager of Strategic Planning will play a pivotal role in assisting the Head of Strategic Planning with crafting Network Strategy recommendations and for establishing and enhancing the strategic framework and management infrastructure essential for supporting strategic scenario planning, financial planning, and evaluating network performance against established principles.
How you will contribute
- Develop comprehensive strategic and financial analyses to inform Network Strategy Recommendations, in close collaboration with the Head of Strategic Planning and Strategy Leads.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with the broader business objectives and strategic roadmaps, ensuring cohesive progress.
- Establish and oversee a robust management infrastructure to collect, review, challenge and validate data to measure Site and Network Performance. Facilitate detailed scenario and financial analyses, as well as the measurement of network performance. This includes documenting and evaluating operational and financial metrics against set principles and benchmarks.
- Perform ongoing analyses of the network to pinpoint improvement opportunities, and devise actionable plans in partnership with Strategy Leads and cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage in and contribute to network performance reviews to identify deviations from strategic long-term goals. Work closely with Network Strategy Leads to define scenario planning needs and generate fact-based analyses that highlight risks and opportunities. Network Performance & optimization: Evolve understanding of network performance through the use of appropriate network analytics in partnership with relevant business partners. Pursue identification of optimization opportunities.
- Annual Strategy Refresh: Lead Annual Strategy Refresh Process and workshops to identify the Network Strategy studies; Develop the related analyses and build the recommendations liaising with the different functions and OpU. Develop Network Strategy presentations to communicate and align on the analyses and recommendations.
- Management Infrastructure: Support the development and implementation of the Network Strategy Management Infrastructure (Scenario planning, LRCP Model, Financial Planning, Cost curves,….). Support the change management and training related to the deployment of the management infrastructure.
- Risk assessment: Responsibility for summarizing risk at the site and Network level (Risk identification, quantification, mitigation and monitoring).
What you bring to Takeda
Essential:
- B.S. in engineering or biological sciences/pharmacy.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or associated industry required with prior financial analysis responsibility.
- Demonstrated application of planning skills is critical.
- Previous experience in directly working with cross functional teams at a plant or corporate support function level, with direct and regular interaction across functions: Commercial, R&D, Product Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Site Production Planning Engineering, etc.
- Fluent in English.
Desired:
- Prior experience in developing strategic and financial analyses.
- Prior working interaction with Supply Chain functions, manufacturing at global and production site.
- Ability to develop complex models and build clear and convincing presentation for the senior management.
