The IT department at Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) operates as a critical strategic unit within LRL. This team establishes and guides both information and business strategies, creating and implementing solutions that support the actualization of goals for LRL and its IT sector.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Foster strong relationships with scientist by employing business and systems analysis talents to identify principal business requirements, apply external insights to proactively assess environmental shifts, and shape tech solutions aimed delivering LRL business outcomes

  • Guide and shape the creation and recording of a comprehensive IT services strategy and framework for the business division

  • Assess potential project concepts and software modifications through impact analysis and projected business value to guide decision-making

  • Acquire extensive understanding of science and technology to guarantee that solutions meet organizational requirements

  • Guide the team in assessing and considering both current and prospective projects within the work portfolio to ensure alignment with LRL business goals, while also steering the implementation of LRL IT initiatives in cooperation with vendors, collaborators, the team, and leadership

  • Acquire and utilize insights about LRL IT strategies, systems, and technologies to facilitate business processes enhancements and delivery on scientific outcomes

What You Should Bring:

  • Provide technical leadership to project teams to ensure on-time project deliverables

  • Document business requirements and effectively communicate them to software vendors, developers and testers

  • Ensure proper technical requirements have been appropriately defined for each project and are consistent with local and global requirements and best practices

  • Ensure system testing methods are appropriate, coordinated and comprehensive to decrease probability of unexpected system issues or inability to optimize the systems’ use to maximize business benefit

  • Own and drive succinct technical and business process focused communications in order to achieve business and project objectives

  • Leverage relationships outside of LRL IT to enable increased productivity and seek opportunities to reuse internal processes and services to streamline support and implementation of key systems

  • Anticipate, understand, and communicate the implications of technical decisions on the business, applications, and project timelines and influence decisions accordingly

  • Define, lead, and execute technical work; perform programming, software integration, and data integration activities

  • Analyze and solve complex technical problems, including utilizing advanced data analysis and multiple technologies

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, STEM or relevant information technology program

  • 3+ years of experience in technology career with an aptitude for applying technology solutions to opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or in formal leadership roles

  • Demonstrated broad and deep technology learning agility

  • Experience with ITIL and key IT processes

  • Previous Pharmaceutical R&D IT experience
