Job Details

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Non-viral Delivery Technology group and support screening potent and tolerable gene delivery modalities. As a part of Regeneron Genetics Medicine, this work would involve lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-nucleic acid formulation, characterization, and optimization, as well as assisting in development of novel LNP characterization assays. Your nanoparticle expertise combined with Regenerons technology platforms, including viral and non-viral gene therapy, CRISPR-mediated gene editing, VelociGene transgenic mouse models, and the extensive catalog of fully human therapeutic antibodies, will be applied to make immediate contributions to the field of next-generation genetic medicine.

As an Associate Scientist, a typical day may include the following:

  • Performing, analyzing, and troubleshooting LNP characterization assays such as nucleic acid encapsulation efficiency (Ribogreen), sizing (DLS), surface properties (zeta potential), and apparent pKa (TNS)

  • Performing fluorescence/colorometric and ELISA-based assays to evaluate protein expression and tolerability

  • Performing cell-culture experiments to evaluate LNP potency and tolerability

  • Producing LNPs for internal programs and provide occasional experimental support for existing late-stage preclinical assets in the pipeline

  • Collaborating (consistent with cultural values) with team members and between groups

  • Participating and presenting in team meetings

This role may be for you if:

  • You appreciate and contribute to a strong team culture

  • You enjoy working in an innovative, cross-functional team

  • You have a passion for championing non-viral delivery of genetic medicines

  • You have strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills

  • You can effectively and rationally balance and prioritize multiple projects

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a BS/MS and 0-2+ years of relevant lab experience in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field. Experience and background in LNP-based nucleic acid delivery, with a focus on formulation and characterization of LNPs, is required. Must have extensive experience with cell culture. Experience in animal handling is highly desired, but not essential. Familiarity with high-throughput formulation screening, alternative delivery modalities (e.g. polymers, dendrimers, VLPs), and design of experiments (DOE) are a plus.

Does this sound like you? Apply now to take your first step towards living the Regeneron Way! We have an inclusive and diverse culture that provides comprehensive benefits, which often include (depending on location) health and wellness programs, fitness centers, equity awards, annual bonuses, and paid time off for eligible employees at all levels!
