The Role
This is a co-op internship opportunity in Bethesda, MD from January 21st, 2025 – June 20th, 2025. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the internship.
The Clinical Development organization at Moderna is looking for top talent in life sciences and biotechnology to support delivery on our mission to bring mRNA medicines to patients. Co-op Interns will have an opportunity to be part of high-performing project teams supporting the clinical operations department with day-today tasks related to the management and execution or mRNA clinical trials. This position offers valuable exposure to clinical research processes, regulatory compliance, data collection, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in clinical research, biotechnology, and a passion for advancing innovative therapies.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Assist with the coordination and management of clinical trials, including supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring phases.
Help prepare and maintain clinical trial documents (e.g., informed consent forms, case report forms, regulatory documentation).
Assist in the collection, review, and analysis of clinical trial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support the management of study site activities, including site initiation, monitoring, and close-out.
Participate in the preparation of clinical trial materials and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Assist in the tracking of clinical trial progress, timelines, budgets, and resources.
Help manage and maintain regulatory and ethical approvals for clinical trials.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., clinical operations, regulatory affairs, data management, and medical affairs) to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
Help identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during clinical trials.
Attend team meetings and assist with documentation and reporting of progress and quality findings.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline).
Strong interest in clinical research, biotechnology, and clinical trials.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory guidelines is a plus but not required.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as the ability to contribute to high performing teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
