The Opportunity
We are seeking a Scientist/Associate Scientist to join our team in San Diego. This hands-on position is responsible for designing, synthesizing, and analyzing antibody oligonucleotide conjugates. The ideal candidate will have biotech/pharma experience in medicinal chemistry, bioconjugation, and nucleic acid therapeutics. The candidate is expected to be a strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.
What You Will Contribute
- Design, synthesis, purification, and analysis of oligonucleotides, linkers, and protein/peptide/antibody conjugates.
- Implement lead optimization strategies to advance AOCs into development.
- Preparation and communication of research results in both oral and written formats.
What We Seek
- Title depending on experience. Scientist level: Minimum PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline, with minimum of 0-3 years of experience or MS/BS degree with 10+ years of industry experience. Associate Scientist level: Minimum MS/BS with minimum of 6+ years of experience.
- Experience in HPLC purification and analytical methods for proteins and oligonucleotides.
- Experience with AKTA and unicorn software is preferred.
- Experience with oligonucleotides and targeted delivery is preferable.
- Previous experience in biotech/pharma is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve chemistry problems.
- Proven ability to conduct self-directed research and to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of co-workers.
- Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary.
- The base salary range for this role is $98,000 - $136,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience, skillset, internal equity, and market factors.
