Quality Knowledge Management Automation Intern Overview:

The Pharmacovigilance, Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality (PSEQ) organization works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues across the product lifecycle to identify, evaluate, understand, and communicate the safety profile and ensure quality standards of AbbVie products to protect patients worldwide.

This Intern will support the Medical Device Combo Product Research and Development Quality Assurance (MDCP RDQA) organization. This team works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues in R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Safety and more to develop and launch new AbbVie medical device products to patients worldwide.

The role of MDCP R&D Quality is to ensure products are designed to be safe and effective, while also ensuring development efforts comply with applicable standards and regulations. The group is also focused on harmonizing quality processes across many diverse sites to ensure the needs of each site are represented in global procedures. We support the development of a variety of medical devices in the Therapeutic and Aesthetics space, including plastics, regenerative medicine, and electromechanical equipment.

Key responsibilities:

The intern will support a team of R&D QA development partners around the globe.

The intern will lead efforts to build tools (such as AI BOTs) to collect and organize existing SOPs, Regulations, Standards, Guidance, existing knowledge in a way to facilitate easy search and promote consistent application across R&D Medical Device Combo Product group members. The intern will explore potential ways to automate quality activities, such as DHF (Design History Files) documentation reviews to catch/correct basic documentation issues. This includes:

• Better organize existing quality documentation procedures, standards, guidance documents
• Implement knowledge management framework and best practices (e.g., team meeting notes, learnings, existing knowledge documentation) to optimize search functionality and ensure efficiency and consistency.
• Identify and implement right-size automation opportunities (e.g., document review process).
• Propose and execute machine learning (ML) and/or artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Suggest future state improvements as applicable.

AbbVie strongly considers high performing interns as candidates for the Patient Safety &Quality Development Program, a two-year rotational program aimed at developing the leaders of tomorrow within the Patient Safety and Quality function.

MinimumQualifications:

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing aBachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics or other related field.
• Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
• Expected graduation datebetweenDecember 2025 June 2026
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and techniques
• Experience with data bank, data structure, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in data mining and extraction techniques
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop strategies for the use of Business Intelligence and Analytical tools (such as R, Python, Spotfire).
