JLSa2 is a new and recently launched seed-stage venture backed company, located in South San Francisco, focused upon developing novel multifunctional protein-drug conjugate therapies to address human metabolic diseases and other non-oncology related diseases.
The company is seeking a RA/SRA to support the active analytical characterization of our protein conjugates necessary for the optimization of the biophysical properties of these multifunctional conjugates for progression of lead molecules from research stage through early clinical development.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform characterization efforts of proteins, peptides, and other synthetic drug conjugates, primarily using HPLC assays. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team with the conjugation and biologic assays teams, as well as senior leadership, to ensure data integration across functional areas to ensure rapid decision making and product iteration cycle time. This position is expected to be on site at our SSF facility.
Qualifications:
BS/MS in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related scientific field and minimum 2-4 years of industry experience in the characterization of biologic molecules or peptides is required
Experience in liquid chromatography assays such as RP-HPLC, SEC, CEX, HIC, and knowledge of processing software like Chromeleon or Empower is preferred, experience in capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, plate based assays, and high throughput sample management is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on analytical work, experience reviewing, organizing, and presenting analytical data is preferred.
Knowledge of additional assays such as ELISA or cell-based potency assays is desirable.
Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced start up environment is essential.
Good communication skills are essential.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 (Compensation and level will be commensurate with experience and expertise and could fall outside of the stated range)
