This position provides Pipefitter maintenance support within Indy Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. 

This position is responsible for varying levels of fabrication, installation, and upkeep of the process piping systems in IAPI.  They are responsible for the repair and upkeep of the pressure vessels in the process areas.  They are also required to make weld repair and fabrication of support equipment for production areas as requested (carts, metal shelving, metal brackets etc.) 

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Key Objectives/Deliverables: 

    • Detailing and fabrication of piping systems (threaded, welded, glued plastic, braised, compression fitted) 

    • Steam and condensate piping equipment (steam traps, strainers, regulating valves, vacuum breakers, etc.) Need to be proficient in troubleshooting, removal, repair and reinstallation of this equipment. 

    • Fabrication and repair of equipment using welding procedures (orbital, TIG, MIG, Electrode, Acetylene, etc.) 

     

    Other areas of responsibility: 

    • Safety: Conduct daily activities in a manner that will cause no injuries to them or their co-workers. Attend safety meetings and complete all health and safety related training. 

    • Compliance: Complete all work in a timely manner and in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures. 

    • Documentation: Complete all documentation associated with daily maintenance activities, including work order hard copy completion, parts ordering (pick slip generation), and post maintenance documentation (where required). 

    • Communication: Pass all vital information along to the appropriate parties when dealing with critical equipment issues.  This is done both orally and in written reports. 

Basic Qualification:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic Computer, math, reading comprehension and writing skills 

Additional Skills Preferences:

  • Minimum 3 Years of Maintenance journeyman level experience.
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation, as applicable
  • Associate degree or Technical Certificate in the mechanical trades, or equivalent experience
  • Experience within a regulated industry; FDA regulated industries preferred
  • Ability to perform quality work without close supervision
  • Proficiency in CMMS (e.g., Maximo), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in providing a high-level of customer service
  • Ability to follow written procedures while performing maintenance activities
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Track record of maintaining a neat and orderly work area (good housekeeping)
  • Experience performing maintenance in a Manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting process related equipment failures
  • Good documentation practices and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated record of maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.

Additional Information:

  • Requires open shift availability (Nights, 12 hr., 3on/3off) to meet business need.
  • Must be willing to work overtime during peak periods (e.g. monthly shutdowns, etc.).  Schedule could change due to business needs for additional coverage during Shutdowns, training and peak vacation times.
  • Individual must be able to comply with all building gowning and SOP requirements and be expected to perform in various areas within manufacturing
