We are seeking a Research Associate for our In-Vivo PK (Pharmacokinetics)/PD (Pharmacodynamics) team. Level depends on experience. This is primarily an on-site position.
The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting in-vivo experiments to evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) properties of therapeutic candidates. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with in-vivo animal studies and will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support various drug discovery projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-vivo PK/PD studies in animal models, including dose administration, blood sampling, tissue collection, and necropsy.
- Ensure proper animal handling and dosing techniques, following established protocols and ethical guidelines.
- Assist in the design and execution of in-vivo studies to support the evaluation of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties.
- Collect, organize, and document experimental data accurately and maintain laboratory records in compliance with company protocols and regulatory standards.
- Analyze PK/PD data and assist in data interpretation under the guidance of senior scientists.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biology, chemistry, and translational science, to support project goals and timelines.
- Maintain lab equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure supplies are well-stocked.
- Contribute to the preparation of study reports, presentations, and documentation for regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with all animal care and use guidelines, and follow company SOPs and safety protocols.
- Motivated and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced research environment.
- Team-oriented and open to collaboration across scientific disciplines.
Experience:
- Proficiency in in-vivo techniques such as IV, IP, SC dosing, oral gavage, blood sampling, and tissue collection in rodents.
- Familiarity with the principles of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Basic understanding of data analysis techniques and willingness to learn graphing software (e.g., excel, Graph Pad Prism).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for assisting with report writing and presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ex-vivo assay development and validation
- Familiarity with preclinical drug development processes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in specialized therapeutic areas such as autoimmune, oncology, neuroscience, or immunology.
- Previous experience working with small molecules or biologics in PK/PD studies.
Education:
- BS or MS in Pharmacology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- 2-5+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in in-vivo pharmacology, toxicology, or a related discipline (years of experience may vary depending on the level of the role).
The salary range for this position is $ 85,000 USD to $100,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
This position is located in South San Francisco, CA and employees are expected to be onsite Tuesday-Thursday.* At this time we are not considering remote applicants.
