Lilly has initiated a multi-year Quality Digital Labs transformation program that will simplify and implement Digital Lab of the future agenda at Lilly. This is part of a broader set of enterprise-wide programs focused on enabling unprecedented company growth and delivery of new modalities serving patients around the world.

What You’ll Be Doing   

Your primary role as Global M&Q Sr. Director, Tech at Lilly is developing Digital Lab of the future program, Lab Information Management and Lab Execution. In this role, you will provide Program Technical leadership with our Digital lab’s portfolio and governance for Digital Quality labs across the enterprise, lead Lab of the future transformation initiatives to digitalize Labs, enable new technologies. You will partner with your peer leaders, QC leadership, , deliver the MQ digital transformation programs in Quality. You will have a leadership role in coaching the program team, resources.

  • Be Engaging - We need a leader who will engage a broad and diverse team focused on re-imagining Quality and Manufacturing processes using automated solutions, bring new capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence, next generation platforms using modern API’s and tech stack.
  • Must have a strong understanding of corporate computer system validation requirements according to Lilly Quality Standards, providing technical guidance to the global and site teams ensuring quality of operations and deliverables.  
  • Must have a combination of technical and soft skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement with Quality Lab processes.  
  • Must communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, influence decision making at all leadership levels, adept at networking and building strong professional relationships.
  • Proactively monitor and stay abreast of evolving business and technology trends, in the realm of Digital Quality Labs in Manufacturing. Continuously seek out innovative approaches to enhance our processes.
  • Experience with cGMP regulations, Data Integrity requirements in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lab Council business processes, QC equipment and Instruments, Lab automation, Method development and harmonization, QC Technology Transfer process, Computer System Validation.
  • Leverage an agile mindset and framework for the entire lifecycle.
  • Development of QC Equipment Product Market Place, Standards, Technology Packages
  • Vendor Management and program Management
  • Coach and mentor team members on best practices and standards. 

What You Should Bring  

  • Experience with Quality Digital lab processes, Lab Data Integration, Lab technology Standardization, Quality lab automation.  
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing and laboratory Practices with demonstrated experience in computer system validations efforts. 
  • Understanding of eRelease, Sample Management and tracking, method development and standardization etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts. 
  • Experience working with modern technology stack including cloud-based solutions, Artificial Intelligence.
  • Additional Experience in the following would be preferred but not required:  
    • Labvantage LIMS and LES, NuGenesis, EMPOWER, BINOCS, IoT edge, Tulip Frontline Operations in Manufacturing and Quality
    • Lab automation systems, Instrument integrations, development, and/or support. 

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related technical field.
  • With a minimum of 7+ years in IT leadership, Program Manager roles, Quality and Manufacturing strategies driving strategic initiatives and fostering team growth.  

Additional Preferences

  • Must have relevant leadership experience leading, delivering and/or supporting enterprise IT platforms within a highly regulated industry
  • Excel in negotiation, driving consensus across complex stakeholder groups to achieve desired business outcomes. Combine assertiveness with effective change management.  
  • Passion for working on a team from diverse backgrounds and geographies.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working, Product framework

  • Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $154,500 to $226,600 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).  Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.  Further, Lilly reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate its compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion and Lilly’s compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the details of any promotion or transfer of Lilly employees.
