The Position

The Digital Portfolio Manager: Coordinates enterprise-wide digital, data and automation acceleration projects and programs. Takes an active part in challenging the status quo and paving the way for digital solutions across all business functions. Leads, develops, and executes effective program delivery via project prioritization, implementation oversight and change management support. Aligns with company's short-term and long-term planning cycles.

 

Relationships

This role reports directly to the Senior Director of the Enterprise Digital Transformation Program Management Office (PMO). Due to the cross-functional nature of the digital programs, the individual in this role will partner closely with key workstream leaders, program owners and senior management in Finance & Operations, Commercial Strategy & Marketing, Ethics & Compliance and other business functions.

 

This position requires frequent senior management interaction, leadership, and collaboration.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support the successful planning and execution of digital programs, project plan development and change management plans for accelerating enterprise digital transformation. This includes prioritizing projects, implementing innovative solutions and managing change to boost business impact and operational efficiency
  • Establish best practice methodology and tools within agile development and change management and consult program owners as they work with the business to implement efficient and effective digital transformations
  • Develop and lead maintenance of integrated project plans (options development, risks management, opportunities identification, timing) that reflect the approved balance of scope, time and resources
  • Demonstrate strong consultative and project management skills
  • Lead identification and articulation of benefits, synergies between projects and risk/dependencies
  • Lead, communicate and drive portfolio progress and actions cross-functionally through all applicable stakeholders
  • Drive relevant reporting and follow-up on progress
  • Identify risks to project execution, schedule or scope and facilitate the mitigation of those risks with the appropriate teams
  • Solicit, understand and document business requirements processes and workflows and translate into process design and development
  • Independently lead one or more projects at a time
  • Become a trusted advisor to program owners by identifying root causes of issues and providing actionable recommendations to solve them
  • Collaboratively prepare project plans with program owners to map out clear milestones, delegate responsibilities and identify interdependencies
  • Drive discussions around a strong problem-solving logic to ensure that the project can be solved most effectively
  • Prepare storyline and execute on communication activities using conscious application of structured communication approaches (e.g.top-down vs. bottom-up)
  • Produce well-structured and well-argued end-products with clear and precise messages
  • Galvanize project teams by coaching and motivating various levels of team members

    Physical Requirements

    Approximately 0-15% overnight travel.

     

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
    • A Master’s and/or advanced degree (preferably an MBA) can be substituted for up to 2 years of work experience when appropriate
  • 2+ years proven internal/external digital transformation or strategy implementation experience required
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
  • Expert understanding of general business processes (marketing, access, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile methodology is preferred
  • Significant and robust project management skills with the ability to secure timely execution of agreed actions
  • Proven track record in effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration
  • Structured top-down written and oral communication
  • Assertive and inspirational presentation skills
  • Expert analytical visualization skills
  • Expertise using PC tools (PowerPoint and Excel) is required
  • Strong language skills in English (written and orally)
  • Highly agile in terms of working under tight deadlines and ambiguity / changing circumstances
