The Position

This position is accountable for the reporting and analytics of sales results to company senior management. The position will also work proactively and cooperatively with and coordinate input from key stakeholders to complete analysis and develop recommendations.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Director – Sales Reporting. Internal relationships include Senior HQ & local leadership, brand VPs, FP&A GtN and forecasting COE’s, and Supply Chain.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for leading the development, preparation, and communication of daily, monthly, & quarterly financial management reports & operational analyses
  • Develops and performs standardized financial analyses to provide the executive team with an in-depth understanding of sales on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Primary contact for daily and monthly sales variances and insights in response to management and executive inquiries
  • Own and manage the relationship between FP&A, Trade and OTC functions regarding wholesaler actions and their implications on sales and financial results
  • Ownership of ValueTrak system for weekly and ad-hoc analysis of wholesaler inventory levels to local management and field representatives
  • Prepare and lead monthly meetings with assigned brand management areas to communicate monthly brand results, trends and drivers
  • Owner of key Corporate Annual Report disclosures surrounding Gross-to-net detail and wholesaler data
  • Builds and maintains financial models to forecast future performance
  • Key contributor and owner of financial forecasts as it relates to wholesaler DSA contract negotiations and review and reconciliation of related wholesaler DSA invoices
  • Support product launches as point of contact for ex-factory related inquires and trends
  • Reviews historical and future trends to provide management with the insight necessary to make business decisions
  • Establishes and maintains a systematic process to capture, challenge, and understand monthly sales variances
  • Provides leadership in the creation, implementation and communication of financial information to the organization
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial transactions within the reporting systems
  • Leads the forecasting process of assigned gross to net forecasts (particularly upfront discounts & cash discounts)
  • Aligns business teams to timelines, deliverables and expectations. Drives review and approval process with relevant leadership teams
  • Assist in the development and improvement of operational systems, processes and policies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance team
  • Pursues new technologies, systems and processes to enhance timeliness of financial analysis and improve overall financial reporting
  • Establishes strong processes and maintains relevant SOPs and workflows
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to prescribed internal controls and documenting such adherence in conjunction with Sarbanes - Oxley requirements including ownership of the quarterly Sarbox memorandum to support critical rebate and Gross-to-Net assumptions and judgments
  • Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Specified degree in finance, accounting or other business-related area is preferred
  • Requires a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience, with at least 3 years in accounting/financial analysis preferred; pharma experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills required
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent Excel and other PC skills required
  • Has the ability to act as project lead in the development and implementation of processes and programs
  • Prior experience in Managed Market contracting or Gross to Net forecasting a plus
