Job Scope:

GenScript is looking for a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous individual to join our RNA team. The successful candidate will focus on novel RNA product research and development. As a Research Associate, you will be instrumental in process and QC method development to support new RNA production services.   

 

Location: Redmond, WA

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to R&D projects, focusing on novel RNA enzymatic and ribozymatic synthesis.
  • Support the development of in vitro and cell-based assays for new product characterization.
  • Assist in developing, writing, and reviewing analytical method protocols.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to effectively communicate scientific findings within the team.
  • Monitors supply inventory and identify required products.
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, and department storage in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1+ years of industry experience will also be considered.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience with in vitro RNA synthesis, purification, and characterization.
  • Direct experience with messenger RNA is required, and experience with circular RNA (circRNA) is a plus.
  • Experience with cell culture is preferred.
  • Proficient in RNA-related analytics, including gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, qPCR, HPLC, and LC-MS (preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to support each other.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated sense of humility and eagerness to learn and contribute to a supportive team environment.
