The Principal or Senior Scientist will be reporting to the Director. You will work onsite at our CSL Seqirus site in Holly Springs, NC location. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scientific input for the design and execution analytical methods development for characterization protein-based vaccine components.
- Provide scientific expertise to ensure development studies are well thought out and have clear, measurable benefits.
- Direct supervisor for a team of 3-4 scientists involved in developing multiple analytical assays, such as: chromatographic, electrophoretic, enzymatic, and immunoassays.
- Author development reports and test method documents and assists with development/critical review of submission documents.
- Contribute to authorship and review of manuscripts, conference abstracts, etc.
- Contribute to the scientific analysis of clinical study reports, internal and external scientific meeting presentations and peer-reviewed publications, and regulatory submission documents.
- Will foster close collaboration with other departments, defining and improving interfaces to other functions.
- Provide technical oversight of method development activities sub-contracted to 3rd party development and manufacturing organizations.
Qualifications:
- An advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in Science,
- Hands-on experience within in developing and executing immunoassays such as ELISA, Luminex, MSD, and enzymatic assays.
- In-depth knowledge in the analytical methods development for characterization biopharmaceuticals and/or protein-based vaccines.
- 10 years experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (or where relevant a biomedical research organization).
- 5 years managerial experience.
