About the role

Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells as medicines, who are passionate about delivering the possible to patients, and who lead with the desire to work on novel ideas.  As a Senior Scientist, you will report to the Senior Genomics Lead, and work under the broader direction of the Head of Stem Cell Sciences. Your daily responsibilities include the collection of in vitro and in vivo samples, and library preparation for genomic assays, including single cell genomics, CUT&TAG, CUT&RUN, WGS, and Amplicon-sequencing. You will also work closely with other wet-lab scientists within the team to coordinate and process samples, managing data log and annotations, and experimental design.

What you’ll do

  • Library preparation of epigenetics and DNA assays (CUT&TAG, CUT&RUN, WGS, WES, Amplicon-sequencing)
  • Library preparation of assays related to single cells (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, scMultiome-seq, CITE-seq)
  • Assure the quality, integrity, and documentation of all data collection including compliance with all relevant lab safety and biosafety regulations
  • Capture and analyze in vitro cell samples as well as in vivo samples

What we’re looking for

  • Advanced degree in cell biology or molecular biology with 5 years of experience
  • Experience in flow cytometry, including sorting of cells based on fluorescent labels
  • Experience with library preparation for single cell genomic assays, especially the 10x Genomics Platform
  • Experience with CUT&TAG and CUT&RUN library preparation
  • Proficiency in flow cytometry analysis and quantification (ie FlowJo)
  • Experience in cell isolation from tissues

What will separate you from the crowd

  • Experience with data management and recording of scientific protocols using benchling
  • Organization and project management skills


What you should know

  • The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145,000 and $175,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
