LRL Tech@Lilly is looking for an Artificial Intelligence Full Stack Engineer for a large scale, multi-year transformation effort that will be reimagining how clinical trials are performed using AI and automation. This role is ideal for a person with a passion for applying innovative AI and automation methodologies and bring them to life in solutions that solve complex, real-world problems.

What You’ll Be Doing:AI and Automation Leadership: Develop and apply innovative AI techniques to solve complex business challenges, creating tailored solutions that drive strategic value and transform clinical research processes.
Full Stack Development: Create and implement AI-driven applications across the full stack, from backend services to frontend interfaces.
System Architecture and Design: Design and uphold resilient system architectures to guarantee optimal performance, scalability, and security across all platforms
Establish Technical Vision and Direction: Set and communicate a clear technical vision and strategic direction for solution delivery teams, guiding the development and execution of AI projects to enable organizational goals and long-term objectives.
Cross-Disciplinary and Organization Collaboration: Effectively engage with colleagues to gather innovative ideas and insights, fostering a collaborative environment that inspires and motivates team members to innovate and explore creative solutions in AI development.
Ethics and Compliance in Development: Adhere to ethical guidelines in AI usage and data handling, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security.
How You’ll Succeed:Apply your creative and technical skills to develop solutions that integrate AI and full-stack components that address complex challenges and improving application functionality.
Combine your knowledge modern cloud native application technologies and AI to create high-quality, innovative software solutions.
Communicate complex technical details and project updates effectively across different teams, facilitating clear understanding and cooperative project management.
Remain adaptable and proactive in learning new technologies and techniques in AI and full-stack development to keep up with industry trends and advancements.
Lead projects and collaborate with teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that align with business goals and user needs.
5+ years of experience in clinical drug development with expertise in related processes, technologies, and information flows.
Demonstrated experience with common AI frameworks and technologies (i.e. TensorFlow, PyTorch, LLMs, LangChain, Azure Open AI, and Bedrock).
Validated experience with front-end technologies (i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks like React or Angular.
Proficient in back-end programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL.
Experience integrating machine learning models, NLP, and AI technologies into practical applications.
Understanding of RESTful API design and Development, microservices architecture, and scalable system engineering.
Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
A commitment to ethical AI practices and robust security protocols to safeguard application data and user privacy.
Demonstrated experience influencing internal and external stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a diverse team environment.
Capability to lead projects or mentor junior developers.
Experience in a regulated industry, such as financial services or healthcare, where understanding of compliance regarding data security and privacy is essential.
Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth in the dynamic fields of AI and full-stack development.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related scientific field.
3 years in a senior-level solutions architecture role, with a focus on data products and AI transformation projects.
3 years experience developing and implementing AI and machine learning solutions.
6 years experience leading full stack / multi-disciplinary software development teams (e.g., UI/UX, data, backend/API, system integration)
Previous experience working with AWS, Azure AI, or other ML cloud services.
Additional Information:
Position located in Indianapolis, Indiana working in a hybrid model.
Travel may be required periodically.
