The Role
This is a co-op opportunity in Cambridge, MA from January 21, 2025 June 20, 2025. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the internship. Start date will be January 21, 2025.

The Gene Editing Discovery team is seeking a team-oriented and highly motivated Co-op to join our gene editing and translation group. The candidate will contribute to discovery research to characterize the activity of mRNA-encoded proteins against disease targets of interest in cell culture and preclinical models. The successful candidate should have a background in molecular biology, genetics, or cell biology. Applicants should be collaborative team members, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and exhibit a strong desire to learn.The candidate must thrive in a fast pace environment with high expectations. Heres What Youll Do
Work with a team of highly skilled experts to come up to speed quickly on technology and techniques
Use laboratory, technical and communication skills to generate experimental results, perform data analysis, and document in formal reports including conclusions and recommended next steps
Working with mammalian cell biology and/or gene editing to carry out experiments with mRNA-encoded gene editors
Perform cell culture, including maintenance and manipulation of cell lines and primary cells
Carry out a variety of assays spanning a range of molecular and cellular biological techniques, including qPCR, ELISA, Jess, ICC/IF
Maintain clear and detailed research notebook
Work well as part of a team
Prepare technical reports and present finding in cross-functional meetings
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
A high-school diploma
Working knowledge and experience with general molecular biology and cellular biology techniques
Experience with mammalian cell culture and primary hepatocytes is a plus
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, scientific versatility, flexibility, results-oriented, ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication skills
Passion for great data
