The Position

Develops and executes the Supply Chain business strategy, planning and reporting for the distribution to direct downstream channel customers of NN Diabetes, Obesity and Growth Hormone products within the US as well as Puerto Rico.

 

This key role manages multi-million-dollar financial agreement negotiations with the "Big 3" wholesalers and accountable for compliant product distribution and the related systems to manage the Supply Chain business.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Senior Director, Supply Chain and is in direct contact with industry associations, wholesalers and HQ. Works closely with Trade Strategy and Account Management, Market Access, Legal, Rare Diseases, and Finance.

 

Essential Functions

  • Distribution Strategy
  • Evaluate downstream channel market conditions to identify areas of opportunity to incorporate into the Supply Chain strategy
  • Collaborate and consult with Marketing, Market Access and Trade on strategy and new opportunities for product distribution for trade and no charge business
  • Active member representing Novo Nordisk in industry associations, i.e., Healthcare Distributors Association (HDA), NACDS, Advisory Boards, etc.
  • Account Management
  • Develop and deliver effective business presentations to drive strategic initiatives and opportunities
  • Establish and maintain strong senior level relationships at the Big 3 wholesalers
  • Negotiate favorable multi-million-dollar Distribution Service Agreements with the Big 3 wholesaler, including National Replenishment Center agreements
  • Manage the DSA creation and amendments and ensure ongoing compliance to the requirements and conditions
  • Lead the reporting and analytics of wholesaler data for internal and external use

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required.

    This is a hybrid role, requiring the incumbent to be onsite in Plainsboro, NJ 3 days per week.

     

    Development of People

    Supervisory

    Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

     

    Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

     

    Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

     

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree is preferred
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible business-related experience, pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Prior management or leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated strategic business planning and execution experience
  • Experienced engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
