How you will Achieve More with Intellia:
We are excited to welcome a new Associate Scientist to our Cell Therapy group at Intellia, where we leverage CRISPR technology to fully unleash the power of cell-based therapies for autoimmune diseases. In your new role, you will engineer CAR-targeted mouse and human T cells, including regulatory T cells, to further characterize them phenotypically via flow cytometry and in various in vitro assays (activation, cytotoxicity, cytokine production, proliferation, suppressive activity) as well as for in vivo safety, efficacy, and persistence.
Additional role responsibilities include:
● T cell engineering and production using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
● Performing multicolor flow cytometry analysis.
● Assess T cell cytokine profiles by ELISA or MSD.
● Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to assess CAR-T cell functionality and safety in vitro and vivo.
● Collaborate in conducting animal studies (mouse handling, injections, cell trafficking via IVIS, tissue collection, endpoint analyses).
● Key contributor to study designs, data analysis and presentations
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in immunology, especially T cell and CAR-T cell biology, and seeks to lead innovative, cutting-edge studies in an enthusiastic and collaborative environment. If you describe yourself as a great team player who wants to be challenged, have fun, grow with us, and looks for opportunities to break new ground, we encourage you to apply!
Additional role requirements include:
● B.S. or M.S. in immunology with 5+ years of experience in industry or academic lab.
● Strong organizational and data documentation skills.
● Ability to implement, optimize and/or troubleshoot protocols and operating procedures.
● Comfortable working in a team setting and collaborating within a group.
Meet your future team:
The Autoimmune Cell Therapy Team at Intellia is an energetic, highly motivated, and fun group of scientists. Teamwork makes the dreamwork is our mantra and we strongly support each other with all individual projects. We are dedicated to making a difference for autoimmune patients by developing an unprecedented, CRISPR-based approach to generate highly potent synthetic Tregs and other cell-based therapeutic approaches, and direct them to sites of inflammation. Your future hiring manager is the Group Leader of the Autoimmune Cell Therapy Team.
All team members are currently working onsite in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, you are required to be local to the greater Boston/Cambridge area, or open to relocating. While much of the day-to-day tasks require wet-lab work, our team aims to build not just technical expertise but to promote an environment for scientific and personal development and career growth in biotech. If you decide to join us, you can expect to become a highly valued member of a hardworking and collaborative team. We look forward to fostering your skills, learning from your experiences, and building a larger team together to impact patients’ lives.
Covid-19 Vaccination Policy:All Intellia employees, regardless of work location, are expected to follow all applicable federal, state, and local public health regulations and guidelines, and are strongly encouraged to follow all public health recommendations, including being vaccinated for COVID-19.
EEOC Statement: Intellia believes in a diverse environment, and is committed to equal employment opportunity for all its employees and qualified applicants. We do not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, training, promotion or any other employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status. Company
Many of us pursuing work in the biotechnology industry are inspired by a loved one who is living with a disease or the loss of someone in our community. Rare genetic and oncological and immunological diseases not only affect the people living with often debilitating and life-threatening symptoms, but these disorders also significantly impact their families, friends and caregivers.
Our researchers work tirelessly to harness the genome editing technology CRISPR/Cas9 for human therapeutic use. Jennifer Doudna, an Intellia co-founder, and Emmanuelle Charpentier were awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their pioneering work in CRISPR. We at Intellia are humbled to have a hand in making what we believe to be medical history. As a leader in this space, we take this responsibility to patients seriously.
We are employing a modular genome editing platform to create diverse in vivo and ex vivo pipelines, spanning a range of therapeutic indications. Guided by this full-spectrum approach, we are committed to making CRISPR/Cas9-based medicines a reality for patients suffering from genetic diseases and to creating novel engineered cell therapies for various cancers and autoimmune diseases.
