We are seeking a highly data analytics driven, passionate and self-motivated individual to join our Data, Digital & Analytics team as Director, Data Strategy and Management.
The Director is responsible for defining the data strategy, data acquisition roadmap, data management practices and governance to support the entire North America business. You will serve as the internal expert on healthcare data sources and manage alignment across multiple functions (commercial & medical) to foster value creation by means of the organization’s data assets, data management practices and external ecosystem.
The Director will partner with business units and supporting functions, advocate for appropriate use of data assets and data products according to industry best practices and align data strategy & capabilities clearly to business priorities and compliance across all areas.
Main responsibilities and Job expectations
- Develop andmanagethe overallstrategicdirection, vision and roadmapfor North America (NA) datastrategy, governance and operating model based on priorities and needs of business units
- Champion and maintain commercial & medical data strategy and governance principles (goals, objectives, priorities, scope) for all business areas in the North America
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of data management capabilities (Data Intake, Master Data Management, Channel Aggregation, etc.) that fulfill the business needs and enable data-driven decision making across teams
- Partner withstakeholders across the franchises to identifyopportunities for leveraging central datato drive business decisions and business process optimization
- Advise and advocatefor, appropriate use of data across NA Oncology, Neuroscience and Rare disease therapeutic areas, according to industry best practices
- Be a player-coach and lead teams to source, onboard to deliver accurate, reliable, and timely data and operational support across key stakeholders in Commercial and Medical Affairs business functions
- Define data management framework that is aligned with evolving regulatory, privacy and security requirements
- Own the relationship and process for acquiring data from third party providers(IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo, MMIT,Lab, etc.)
- Defineand track KPIs andensure consistent usage to support business stakeholders
- Develop training materials and supporting documentation to enhance data literacy across the organization
- Continually evaluate the needs of the business and make budgetary recommendations on spend changeswith regard todata, vendors or planned analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to coordinate cross-functional analysis and data acquisition
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
- BA/BS is required; an advanced degree would be a plus
- At least 10 years of experience in pharma data analytics related fields (data management/governance, analytics, etc.)
- 5+ years pharmaceutical experience with direct experience managing data strategy, management and/or analytics
Key Technical Competencies Required
- Deep understanding of the commercial & medical data sources primarily used in generating business insights within pharma/biotech
- Strong familiarity with claims data, script level data, patient longitudinal, specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, lab and real world evidence data
- Expert knowledge of secondary data sources and suppliers in the US market, such as IQVIA, Komodo, Clarivate, MMIT,etc.
- Excellent influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT leadership teams, and external service providers
- Strong data experience and knowledge indefiningand advancingthe Data Management and Analytics capabilities
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing principles and techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skills
- Ability to manage vendors, contracts and budget activities required
The annual base salary range for this position is $177,000 - $255,000

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
