Job Details
Mammoth Biosciences is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our computational team. The ideal candidate will establish, test, monitor, and maintain computational tools, user interfaces, and analysis pipelines across multiple systems. Additionally, they will lead a small team of software engineers, providing technical leadership on various projects. This role involves collaborating with a diverse group of scientists and engineers to develop new tools aimed at curing genetic diseases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and manage computational infrastructure, including cloud services, to support the development and deployment of internal software
- Develop, test, and maintain various design and analysis software for experimental work.
- Collaborate with bioinformaticians to convert biological challenges into computational solutions for use by wet lab scientists
- Gather scientist requirements and feedback and incorporate them into the development process
- Provide continuous technical guidance and support for engineers, bioinformaticians and data scientists
- Document and regularly present data at internal meetings
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or relevant quantitative field with a minimum of 9+ years experience in industry settings (Masters with 7+ years of experience or PhD with 4+ years of experience)
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure
- Experience in creating pipelines using workflow orchestration systems including Dockerizing solutions
- Experience in developing user-facing applications
- Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaborative development
- Proficiency in SQL and managing SQL databases
- Proficiency in Python and ReactJS (Redux)
- Ability to work Pacific Time Zone
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with managing infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Experience working with Github Actions
- Experience working with Prefect workflow orchestration
- Experience developing Streamlit applications
- Record of working collaboratively with scientists and engineers
- Experience providing technical leadership for software development
- Experience in developing software for biological applications

Base Salary Range: $181,500 - $200,000
Actual base salary will be determined by relevant professional experience, applicable skills, and internal equity.
