The Position

The Content Management & Production Lead is responsible for developing and managing best-in-class capabilities and infrastructure for executing omnichannel programs. This role drives the adoption of content supply chain technology across Commercial Strategy and Marketing, and other organizational functions, leading the overall digital content evolution roadmap. The Lead oversees a team that handles end-to-end content supply chain activities, including planning, production, management, and optimization. The role also involves partnering with internal and external teams to deliver digital projects on time and budget, managing stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with best practices, and driving continuous improvement through measurement, optimization, and innovation. The Content Management & Production Lead acts as a strategic partner, providing guidance and driving the coordination and execution of multiple digital campaigns aligned with brand strategy and business objectives.

 

Relationships

The Content Management & Production Lead reports directly to the Experience Operations Lead as part of the Customer Experience & Marketing Enablement organization. This role will regularly interface with direct reports, including the UI Designer, Content Management Lead, and AEM DAM Librarian. Additionally, this role will interface with all other teams across Customer Experience & Marketing Enablement, including Omnichannel Engagement, NextGen, Marketing Operations, Experience Intelligence and Strategic Support & Execution. Outside of Customer Experience & Marketing Enablement, the Content Management & Production Lead will interface with brand and TA teams, as well as IT.

 

Essential Functions

  • Strategy Execution: Develops and manages best-in-class capabilities and infrastructure for the execution of Omnichannel programs through establishing system requirements, processes, procedures, and future capability roadmap. Drives content supply chain technology adoption across CS&M and other functions within the organization. Uses expertise to lead the overall digital content evolution roadmap and portfolio
  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop a team enabling the end-to-end content supply chain, including planning, production, management, and optimization. Manages the business requirement gathering, production, and testing of digital content authoring and publishing (AEM). Demonstrates the ability to think critically, challenge conventional thinking and generate and apply unique business insight to create competitive advantage for the organization
  • Project Management: Works in partnership with internal and external teams to deliver digital projects on time and budget through effective management of the project timeline, issues, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Partners closely with leadership across capabilities and disciplines to ensure that appropriate digital strategy and digital capabilities are in place to deliver on the agreed business initiatives and requirements. Acts as a trusted partner, providing strategic guidance and driving the coordination and execution of multiple digital campaigns aligned with brand strategy and business objectives. Understands partner strategies and priorities and can use this knowledge combined with data to drive clarity and shape discussion to drive business impact
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Responsible for ensuring strategies are thoroughly vetted; market needs assessed, market segmentation understood, technical solution validated and the business model viable. Identifies and addresses technology gaps in current capabilities that may impact the ability to meet the demands of the business units. Creates, manages, and drives adherence to governance model internally and externally across existing digital technology/solution utilization, workflows, metadata, asset creation and storage
  • Measurement, Optimization, & Innovation: Maintains digital best practices including user experience, A/B testing, and content performance optimization. Effectively shares performance knowledge and influences key stakeholders to act on key insights and recommendations for channel. Delivers operational excellence by identifying potential process improvements and informing standards that enable great customer experience Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder; Promotes same within team
  • Content Production Strategy (Content Supply Chain): Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive content supply chain strategy aligned with the organization's marketing objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and sales to gather insights and requirements for content production, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Establish efficient content production workflows and processes, defining roles, responsibilities, and timelines for content creation, review, and approval. Identify and onboard external vendors, freelancers, or agencies as needed to supplement internal resources and capabilities for content production. Implement project management tools and systems to track content production tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality content assets. Conduct regular content audits and performance evaluations to assess the effectiveness of content production efforts, identify areas for improvement, and inform future content strategies
  • Content Management: Oversee the implementation and management of AEM Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to centralize, organize, and distribute digital assets across the organization. Develop metadata structures, taxonomy, and tagging conventions for digital assets to ensure easy searchability, retrieval, and usage rights management within the DAM system. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to define content authoring requirements and standards, including content formats, templates, and guidelines. Monitor usage analytics and user feedback within the DAM system to identify trends, user behaviors, and opportunities for optimization or expansion. Implement version control and approval workflows within the DAM system to maintain content integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in content production, DAM, and content authoring tools, evaluating potential enhancements or integrations to improve efficiency and effectiveness

    Physical Requirements

    Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.

     

    Development of People

    Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.

     

    Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.

     

    Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

     

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience including progressively responsible experience within digital content management, marketing, or related fields
  • Proven experience with omni-channel digital program execution and content supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge of Content Management Systems related platforms (specifically, Adobe Experience Manager and other Adobe suite of products), processes, architectures, workflows, integrated dependencies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing technologies and platforms
  • Experience with AI metadata tagging solutions, such as Adobe Sensei, and dynamic content assembly
  • Knowledge of best practices in user experience, A/B testing, and website performance optimization
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to manage budgets related to digital content production and technology acquisition
  • Ability to challenge conventional thinking and generate innovative solutions
  • Ability to manage complexity, including the leadership of work across competing priorities
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies to guide customer experiences
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and ethical considerations in engaging with HCPs/Patients
  • Proven track record of innovative market tactics/high impact results (based on metrics/ROI)
  • Outstanding planning and organizational skills with exceptionally high attention to quality of detail and proven track record of results and follow up
