The Financial Analyst, R&D Finance will provide operational support and serve as a key member of the Finance R&D team. This person will be responsible for maintaining the Condor clinical trial accrual software application (Condor), ensuring all budget/forecast/actual data is complete and accurate within Condor. This role will work closely with various department heads in support of periodic budgeting, forecasting, and reporting requirements. The role is an integral part of a growing finance and accounting team and needs to have strong operational experience with full-cycle accounts payable, month-end close process, and FP&A operations.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain Condor application data requirements for original study budgets, ongoing forecasts and actual costs incurred
  • Load clinical study actual data on a weekly/as needed basis to Condor, including invoices, purchase orders, and other data as required. Validate accuracy of data uploaded to Condor
  • Work with project managers to develop forecasts by activity for pre-clinical programs and monitor actuals vs. forecast on an ongoing basis 
  • Assist PO owners with monthly accruals for open purchase orders and/or determine prepaid expenses at each period end
  • Prepare and post monthly JE’s related to clinical trial accruals
  • Monitor the performance of R&D service providers, pre-clinical trial activity and costs
  • Proactively examine research and clinical purchase orders to assess percentage completion or timing of delivery of goods or services
  • Review purchase requisitions for G/L coding accuracy and approve requisitions on a timely basis
  • Assist finance management on ad hoc projects as needed
  • Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by the Company within the required timeline

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • CPA is preferred
  • Pharmaceutical/life science/clinical experience is preferred 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of Accounting principles and expense recognition criteria
  • Expertise with PowerPoint and Excel including experience in building detailed financial models
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organization skills
  • Results driven team player who leads by example and takes full ownership of work
  • Demonstration of a high level of character and ethics to support company’s Code and Values

Financial Analyst:  Base Salary Range $85,000 - $100,000

Senior Financial Analyst:  Base Salary Range $100,000 - $120,000
