The Position

This position has primary responsibility for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment – such HVAC, heating/hot water, pharmaceutical water and gas, and process equipment. This role will monitor and maintain site equipment and respond to unplanned equipment issues.

Essential Functions

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) of plant
  • Respond to and rectify alarm conditions on plant equipment
  • Perform trouble shooting, repair and corrective maintenance (CM) of manufacturing related equipment
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of building and process automation systems (BMS and PCS)
  • Interfaces with engineering and/or manufacturing departments to schedule work in parallel with manufacturing operations
  • Complete assigned PM work orders and Facilities work requests within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team
  • Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required. The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, finger, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

     

    The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, vibration, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes, extreme cold, and extreme heat; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The working environment frequently includes close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways.

     

    Qualifications

    • Education and Certifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated mechanical aptitude including troubleshooting, repair or construction
  • Work Experience:
  • Transferable experience in maintenance, repair, or production environment
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Possess basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand equipment and system drawings
  • Knowledge of proper use of hand tools
