Organization Overview:
The Bioproduct Research and Development (BR & D) organization strives to deliver creative medicines to patients through the development and commercialization of insulins, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies, novel therapeutic proteins, and peptides. This organization is a multidisciplinary group that works collaboratively with our discovery and manufacturing colleagues. Located in Indianapolis, IN and Cambridge MA, scientists have full access to our scientific excellence and engineering capabilities.
Are you looking to grow your career as a Formulations and Drug Delivery Scientist for biologics, RNA and gene delivery? If your answer is yes, then this could be the right role for you! As a Scientist-Formulation Development, the scientist will be exposed to full breadth of opportunities to develop and enable novel formulations.
Therefore, the candidate must demonstrate a history of strong technical depth, scientific leadership and a willingness to promote a collaborative, team-based approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities:
Familiarity with the drug development process for biologics
Expertise in formulation, process development and optimization of drug delivery platforms which may include RNA and lipid nanoparticles.
Experience with chromatographic separations and/or spectroscopic methods for the analysis of oligonucleotides, peptides, monoclonal antibodies, and/or gene therapy systems.
Ability to work in the lab independently
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment beyond BRD and Lilly, including external academic researchers and industry collaborations.
Manage lab activities,
Deliver results under tight deadlines,
Maintain thorough electronic lab notebooks and documentation records
Adhere to all laboratory safety requirements and procedures, assist in managing lab activities including lab equipment maintenance and the ordering and receiving/shipping of lab supplies
Create and write analytical reports and SOPs to support development
Keep abreast of relevant new technologies / capabilities
Authoring of technical reports and regulatory documents.
Basic Qualifications:
MS in biological engineering, chemical engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry or a related field
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Additional Skills/Preferences:
2-5 years of prior experience in formulation or drug product development experience.
