Position Summary

The department’s mission is to develop, maintain, and improve all supply chain systems and processes in alignment with IBP, MRP II Class A, and SMS agile Flow. The scope of activities within the department will include strategic planning, supply and capacity planning, inventory management, and warehousing for the RTP site and essential external locations. The department will have key interfaces between all functions within the RTP site, as well as several corporate functions and other locations throughout our supply chain network.

The Manager of Warehouse & Materials will work as a member of the Supply Chain team. Their primary responsibility will be to oversee the development and management of the supply chain warehouse operations. This includes maintaining a fully compliant and quality-focused operation aligned with customer demand, inventory policies, sourcing and procurement, and escalating and resolving warehouse constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Head of Supply Chain and Manufacturing to actively participate on the Site Extended Leadership team to ensure supply chain deliverables are met.

  • Lead, manage, and oversee the development of the warehouse and distribution team.

  • Ownership of warehouse management system and data integrity.

  • Assist in reviewing area documents, such as logbooks & worksheets. Request new logbooks & archive completed GMP documents when required.

  • Manage and lead routine material operations activities including receiving, sampling, warehousing, material cleaning, kitting & distribution.

  • Manage coordination of packing & shipping materials to both domestic and international markets, including hazardous materials.

  • Lead in maintaining material inventory accuracy using required systems and equipment.

  • Support process investigations & CAPAs.

  • Interface with other CMO network teams to improve efficiency across the global supply network.

  • Active participation in activities associated with import, export, and/or third-party logistics services (inbound/ outbound operations) as well as new product/ process prototyping and engineering changes (e.g., enhancement of packaging of finished goods).

  • Conduct learning teams in response to safety events and conduct/validate accident investigations to determine root causes and proactive solutions.

  • Perform safety audits in support of compliance assurance activities, including unannounced audits and inspections.

  • Assure warehouse facilities meet all regulatory obligations for employee and building safety.

  • Manage OSHA incident and injury reporting within specified guidelines, including the management of the Workers’ Compensation Program within the team

  • Identify changes in documentation and equipment as part of continuous improvement; initiate changes and follow through to implementation (document approval & training).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of inventory systems (preferably D365) & cGMP/Pharmaceutical regulations

  • Extensive experience in warehouse and logistics management

  • Familiarity with deviation management and related systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable operating in an evolving complex and dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing, an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may substitute.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in warehousing (preferably GMP) or performing material operations activities.

  • 3 – 5 years in a lead or supervisory or manager role

  • 5 – 8 years of experience in Biotech materials management and inventory control

  • 3 – 5 years of IT warehouse management and transportation/logistics background

  • Certification in CPIM, CSCP, and/or CLTD.

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma concepts

  • Experience with 3PL business partnerships overseeing.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $95,000.00 - $132,500.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
