Job Description

As an Architect in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), youll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architect to join our Veeva Community of Practice (CoP). The CoP is a specialized unit within BTS Information Research that focuses on Veeva technologies supporting R&D. It serves as a hub of expertise, best practices, and innovation.
The Architect will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive excellence in Veeva technology solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Veeva products, as well as a proven track record in delivering successful projects and establishing best practices. The Architect will partner closely with the Veeva CoP Lead and our BTS domains to drive innovation and growth within the Veeva practice area.
In this role youll be responsible for:
- Spearheading the strategic planning and architectural design of the Veeva platform.
- Overseeing the establishment and adherence to integration guidelines and protocols and ensure all domain activitiesalign with organizational standards.
- Developing and publishing integration guidelines and a Shared Data Entity Catalog to standardize processes and data entities across the platform, including an integration protocol decision framework.
- Reviewing integration designs for compliance with established CoP guidelines and authorizing exemptions for guideline deviations to accommodate project-specific requirements.
- Help standardize the bulk data extraction process out of Vault, working closely with Dataverse team.
- Oversee the assessment of the evolving Veeva product landscape, crafting strategic recommendations for their adoption within AbbVie's IR ecosystem.
- Generating new technological proposals and leading those efforts. Anticipating and critically evaluating technological advances or competitive threats and responding with appropriate new strategies.
- Demonstrating deep knowledge of the Veeva platform and utilizes this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.
- Understanding and adhering to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
- Consistently demonstrating AbbVies Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes including an enterprise mindset and ability to continually innovate. Able to build collaborative relationships with both internal and external collaborators.
Qualifications
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience; masters degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years of experience in application program development.
- Direct work experience with Veevas Development Cloud.
- Indepth knowledge of the systems development life cycle, client areas functions and systems, and systems application program development technological alternatives.
Beneficial:
- 10+ years of experience in the domain and platform of expertise.
- Veeva certification.
- Experience with enterprise data strategy and governance.
