Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be a critical member of the Salesforce global platform team that manages Amgen's Salesforce shared enterprise orgs. This role will advocate and evangelize DevOps principles at Amgen and enable product teams to move through the delivery pipeline faster, with higher quality through the introduction of process and integrated solutions. This role will refine processes related to the continuous delivery of Salesforce products at Amgen, design and develop automations/tooling related to the pipeline that enable mature product teams.

Senior DevOps Engineers work with Platform Admins, Product Owners, Solution Architects, and within the broader technology teams at Amgen to develop and integrate solutions and tooling on/around the Salesforce platform. The focus of the Senior DevOps Engineer is to build products that use the Salesforce platform capabilities in a manner that is scalable, secure, and aligns to standard methodologies and DevOps principles. Your toolset will include Visual Studio Code, SFDX, and CI/CD tooling such as Copado, and git. You will work collaboratively with the cross-functional business and technology team in an agile manner and will contribute to the development of the Salesforce DevOps practice at Amgen. You will stay abreast to the Salesforce roadmap and capabilities, provide feedback to and develop standard methodologies, optimize engineering or release processes, and mentor other Engineers in the community.

  • Maintain and optimize Amgen's existing CI/CD delivery pipeline and processes - streamlining current processes with a focus on automation

  • Partner with Development Teams to ensure agile software delivery and DevOps practices are applied to move most effectively within our CI/CD pipeline

  • Responsible for Source and version control tools including their use, function, processes and procedures (Ant, Jenkins and GIT). Develops automation frameworks and capabilities to ensure release consistency

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in DevOps methodologies and emerging industry solutions

  • Communicate software and system designs using UML, Miro, Lucid Chart, or other modeling tools and software. Collaborate with team members to apply abstractions and service-orientation to foster scalability

  • Develop Test classes and automation to validate business logic and avoid production issues

  • Work closely with other developers in the team including business analyst, QA analyst and project managers

  • Research Salesforce capabilities as needed to suit business requirements, and provide gap analysis

  • Lead day to day development activities on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Visual Force, Lightning Web Components and Aura

Basic Qualifications:Masters degree

OR

Bachelors degree and 2 years of information science experience

Or

Associates degree and 6 years of information science experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of information science experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Salesforce Admin and Platform Builder I certification

  • 3+ years of working with DevOps, engineering, or release manager with a well developed DevOps practice with detailed understanding of CI/CD Processes, integration concepts, methodologies, and technologies

  • Experience developing and fixing release automation and CI/CD processes for highly available n-tier applications, using ANT or packaged solutions such as Gearset or Copado

  • Experience with Version Control systems (Gitlab), branching/environment strategy, etc.

  • Experience integrating off platforms solutions (Testing Platforms, Code Scanning) with CI/CD pipeline

  • Experience in SFDC APIs, SOSL, SOQL, SOAP or REST based web services, SQL, XML, and JavaScript

  • Extensive hands-on technical, solution architecture and engineering experience with the Salesforce platform

  • Experience developing in an enterprise environment with numerous applications, development teams, and security provisions and controls

  • Experience with building and maintaining Custom Objects, and integrating Salesforce with external systems

  • Demonstrably excellent, context-specific and adaptive communication and presentation skills across a variety of audiences and situations; established habit of proactive thinking and behavior and the desire and ability to self-start/learn and apply new technologies

  • An understanding of web services, data modeling, and enterprise application integration concepts, including experience with enterprise integration tools (ESBs and/or ETL tools), and common integration design patterns with enterprise systems (e.g. CMS, ERP, HRIS, DWH/DM)

  • Understand Salesforce security and apply the OWD, sharing patterns, profiles or permissions to your applications

  • Copado Fundamentals I/II (Admin / Developer) or other Salesforce DevOps related certifications

  • Minimum 4 years of application design and development experience

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications

  • 2+ years of working with clients and vendors developing solutions and supporting projects from requirements gathering to release management

  • Experience developing sophisticated products in a regulated or compliant such as GXP, HIPAA or SOX

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
