Laboratory Assistant, PMPD TT&L

We are seeking Lab Assistant to work with the Laboratory Operations (LabOps) team in the Tech Transfer & Logistics group, which is part of the Pre-Clinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) department, located in Tarrytown, NY.

The LabOps team is primarily responsible for helping with routine laboratory tasks that are essential to PMPD core mission activities and include but are not limited to daily re-stocking and ordering of consumables, prepping media and buffers for use by lab personnel, and washing bottles and bioreactors. This role will receive general instruction for routine work and will perform assigned tasks in collaboration with others and will communicate primarily within the subgroup as well as other employees in the department.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

Perform daily routine tasks which may include managing onsite and offsite pallet storage, preparing buffers/media for various formulations and recording appropriately in electronic lab notebooks under supervision

Follow safety protocols and ensure that lab, storage, and hallway spaces are clean and organized to maintain safe working environment maintain safe working environment

With training, understands available instrumentation and performs tasks based on laboratory practices (SOPs, protocols, procedures etc.) with supervision; may multi-task across assignments

Assist with a variety of media and buffer prep activities for several different groups

Be adaptable to learning and supporting additional activities that may arise to continuously support PMPD through future growth and expansion

To be considered for this opportunity, a High school Diploma and 0-2 years of experience, or combination of training and experience. Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols. Experience in inventory management or media/buffer prep is a plus.
