Codexis, a biotechnology company based in Redwood City, CA, is looking to hire a Senior Contracts ManagerCodexis is a leading enzyme engineering company leveraging its proprietary CodeEvolver® technology platform to discover, develop and enhance novel, high-performance enzymes and other classes of proteins. Codexis enzymes solve for real-world challenges associated with small molecule pharmaceuticals manufacturing and nucleic acid synthesis. The Company is currently developing its proprietary ECO Synthesis™ platform to enable the scaled manufacture of RNAi therapeutics through an enzymatic route. Codexis enzymes can drive improvements, such as higher yields, reduced energy usage and waste generation, improve efficiency in manufacturing and greater sensitivity in genomic and diagnostic applications.

About the Opportunity: The Senior Contracts Manager is a key member of the Corporate Law team, which is responsible for all transactional matters (contract negotiation) as well as many legal areas including employment law, privacy and other regulatory matters. The Senior Contracts Manager would manage the company’s contracting software system, as well as bolster our processes around contracting, such as updating and implementing our Contracts Policy, and will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective contracting on behalf of the company. This role will be based in Redwood City, CA. If any of the below describes you, we would love to meet you!

- Organization- managing high volume of contracts.
- Negotiating- issue spotting and appropriate risk assessment.
- Collaborative/flexible- roll up sleeves, do what is needed on a small team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Primary point of contact for all contract requests.
- Manager of Agiloft contracts system.
- Assess business need and risk for contract requests; prioritize appropriately.
- Partner within Legal, business requestor, and with the other party, to negotiate and finalize contracts.
- Assess and update policies and processes around contracting.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Undergraduate/Bachelor's degree or higher.
- 8+ years' experience managing contracting at a company in biotech/pharma industry.
- 8+ years' experience negotiating various types of agreements, including CDA, MTA, research, vendor, services, manufacture, supply, SOWs, purchase/procurement.
- Agility with technology, especially contract management software similar to Agiloft.
- Experience managing other contracts professionals.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements and/or agreements involving IP licensing.
CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $152,000 to $185,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
